BerryCon! March 10-11th in Rome Ga.

Help us alter someone else's reality



BerryCon is a new, nonprofit science fiction, Japanese animation, and fantasy
convention being hosted at Berry College in Rome, Georgia on March 10th and
11th, 2007 by Berry College Alternate Realities (a sci-fi, anime, and fantasy
appreciation group). All proceeds will go to build a home for a homeless family
in Rome.



For pre-registration, please contact us at jnburns@students.berry.edu . We request that you
return the form through email the same listed above and pay when you come to the convention. Prices
are $10 for a 2-day pass for pre-registration and $15 for a 2-day pass at the
door.

For those individuals coming from outside of Rome and are in need of a hotel room, here are

* Costuming - Saturday (1 pm to 2 pm)
* Manga versus Anime - Saturday (2 pm to 4 pm)
* Gaming Systems Debate - Saturday (4 pm to 5 pm)
* Dubbed versus Subbed - Saturday (5 pm to 6 pm)
* World of Warcraft and other online games - Saturday (6 pm to 7 pm)
* Politics and Science Fiction/Anime/Fantasy - Sunday (9 am to 10 am)
* Star Wars and Star Trek - Sunday (10 am to 12 pm)

* Artist Alley - Saturday and Sunday (all day)
* Dealers Room - Saturday and Sunday (TBD)
* Game Demos - Saturday and Sunday (all day)
* Video Room - Saturday (9 am to 6 pm) and Sunday (9 am to 12 pm)
* Silent Auction - Saturday (9 am to 7 pm & 7 pm to 8 pm (rewarding of winning
bids)

* There will be items up for auction, with all proceeds going directly to
building a home for the homeless.

* Dance - Saturday (9 pm to 12 pm)
* Costume Contest-Sunday (9 am to 11 am)
* Closing Ceremony- Sunday (11 am to 12 pm)
* Photo shoot - Saturday (9 am to 12 pm & 1 pm to 6 pm) and Sunday (9 am to 12
pm)

* There will be a photographer that will be at certain locations on campus to
take photos of anyone in costume who wishes to participate. Cost has not been
determined yet.

* Consuite/Security/Volunteer Check-in/Help Desk - Saturday and Sunday (all day)

Please remember that BerryCon is being held on private property so some
guidelines need to be followed:

(1) First and foremost, Berry College Campus Police have the right to remove
anyone or group that is causing a disruption.

(2) Berry is a dry campus, which means that absolutely NO ALCOHOL is
permitted on campus even if individuals are of age. Anyone caught with
alcoholic beverages or any illegal substance will be turned over to the Campus
Police.

(3) Smoking is prohibited in any building on campus and only permitted
outside.

(4) For those individuals who wish to come to the convention in costume,
please were appropriate clothing. This convention is available for all age and
anyone not wearing what we feel is appropriate will be asked to leave.

(5) School policy states that shoes and shirts must be worn in all campus
buildings.

(6) In terms of weapons, no LIVE STEEL will be permitted. Prop weapons must
be made out of cardboard, form, cloth, or wood. Prop guns will be permitted if
they can be distinguished as a toy gun from a distance. Again anyone with real
weapons will be turned over to Campus Police.
