I've had that one on my list since forever and a day! I'm honestly surprised that more people haven't done her tercentennial ball gown since I've already seen nearly all her other outfits online. Then again, I've also always been slightly butthurt that the young Anastasia never got a doll of her own (as far as I know) because that dress is one of my favorites.

I've briefly contemplated doing the nightgown she wears during the siege of the palace from time to time too. I may have to start going through boxes to see if I can find my old Together in Paris locket that came with my orphan Anastasia doll but I doubt I'll find it B|

The tiara that @snowblack linked to a while back in the thread is actually on sale right now! It's apparently overstocked and has been reduced from $200 to $80!

I just finished making her Once Upon a December dress! It was much easier than I thought it would be. I made the crown out of craft foam, yellow paint, and gold spray paint. I'm really happy with it. I will post pictures later.

I'm thinking of making Anastasia's teal-ish outfit from the beginning (when she was a kid), any tips on fabric and such?

I haven't seen anyone cosplay this outfit, unless I missed something...?

I've actually seen a small handful of people around the Internet who have mentioned wanting to do this costume, myself included, so you're not alone. I just don't think that anyone has posted any pictures online yet, which makes me sad since that's always been my favorite gown of hers.

I won't be able to make it myself for a while since I expect it will be a costly venture and I've reached my cosplay budget for the year, but Sofya la Rus' page has a lot of information on old-fashioned Russian clothing, which is very useful since I'm fairly certain that that gown - and maybe even the entire prologue - was inspired by the Romanovs' famous 1903 Ball in which everyone wore the fashions of the 17th century.

Wow! Thank you for the links, they're quite helpful.

Russian clothing is very interesting and beautiful, definitely one of my favorite styles!

You're welcome! It's a little overwhelming, but it's nice to be able to have all that information in order to recreate the outfit accurately. I enjoy traditional Russian clothing as well, and I'm glad I could be of help!

boat dress

I think I'm the only weirdo on here who loves her boat dress :P I'll have it done today to wear on halloween. My husband graciously agreed to be Dimitri (even though he looks nothing like him LOL). Hopeful to have the Once Upon a December dress done sometime this year. Winter is long here in the north, so all I have to do is lock myself inside and sew!

I really want to do a gijinka or a kigurumi of Bartok. I love that little guy, he was what inspired me to have a lifelong love of bats and animals with albinism. Surprisingly, I haven't seen a costume inspired by him yet, or his pink ladybat, or even Pooka! Maybe it does exist, though!
