Ash Ketchum vest/Richie

My sister and I are planning to cosplay as Ash and Richie from Pokemon. I've got ideas on what to do for everything Ash wears, but I think it'd be easiest to get a pattern for the vest. Does anyone know where I can get one that's similar to Ash's?

Same with Richie... I think we need a pattern for everything on him.

And what would be the best way to add the scruff of fur on Richie's Pikachu's head?

Ash's top is actually a short-sleeve jacket, from what I remember. Just find a jacket pattern with a similar collar and you're good to go.

Hmm..it's kinda hard to tell what Richie's wearing. I think it's a short sleeve jacket, a zippered top, and sweatpants. Do you have another interpretation?

I think Richie's jacket could be made out of the same pattern as Ash's. Just check simplicity or another brand for something that looks similar.

well if you have a plush pikachu, you can just sew a little swatch of long-pile yellow fur onto it's forehead, probably.

www.distinctivefabrics.com is awesome, they have long pile fur and you can get a 3"x4" swatch by mail. If you join you get 10 free swatches and shipping is free on your first order, so if you're not already a member, you can get this little bit totally free. *grins*

I'd recommend this fur in yellow:

Or this is longer-pile but has sparkle to it. I'd get a swatch of both and see, heh.
