Shoes >.>;

I'm not quite doing Lolita, but it's Chii...so close enough XD

I figured this forum would be more appropriate.

I need to find a black pair of mary Janes...but I'm on a bit of a budget. ><;

Any suggestions to look?

Chii is not lolita. Her outfits are waay over sexualized and revealing. Also that whole thing that she's supposedly 15 years old...

Sorry if I sound like I'm chewing you out, but although CLAMP was inspired by the lolita fashion, I wouldn't call her outfits lolita. (Lolicon probably though).

If you're a size 10M [medium foot size I guess] in woman's then I have a pair for sale for 20, but they might not quite be what you want. My thread's in the spam board. They have heels on them though [like about 2 inch ones]. @_@;

Neko... -warning look-

These are a bit pricey, but aren't terrible considering what really nice ones would cost. It seems like for a really nice pair, you'll have to spend around eighty dollars. I would check your local Payless first, and though it's very un-Lolita to even suggest it, Hot Topic often has appropriate shoes. You just have to be VERY picky.

Thank you all!

*Goes off to check Yukizilla's thread..*

Despite that Chii may not be totally Lolita or anything...some items in the Gothic Lolita line match her costumes quite well. >_>; Thus, I came here. <3

Nah, it's okay. I'm just saying if you go around calling a very firmilliar cospaly lolita, you might get flamed (much more so that I just [tried not to to] did). Calling it... Mm... Victorian Inspired won't get you so much heat.

Good luck in finding your shoes. :]

I didn't want to start a new thread for this since there are too many shoe threads in here, anyway...

I have these wedge shoes. Would they be appropriate for a lolita outfit-- specifically a blue and black skirt and ruffled black blouse with a mini top hat? And stockings, of course. At this point I have so many black shoes I really don't feel like getting another pair just for an outfit I won't wear very often, but if they're really horrible I will take suggestions.

Nah, those are fine, they're not the best but most certainly better than crocs or stripper shoes, haha.

Totally understandable~

I guess looking at the dress I ordered, I just think lolita-type shoes would match best. xP

*Goes back to Victorian-Inspired Cosplay* xP;;

Thanks again!

Edit

Well, I hadn't thought of target till Penny posted her link for my shoes. XD I was thinking maybe these but I was wondering...

Well I've tried on these types of shoes before, the ones with no sides to them. They make my feet look like they're sagging off the sides and make them look all super fat. >_>;

Do they all do that (meaning, just put up with it and I'll get used to it?)

Thanks~

I own a pair of Jupiters by SoftWalk (the second link), and I gotta say, not only are they very cute and well-made, but they are also the most comfortable pair of shoes I have ever owned in my whole life. It's not even close. Wearing Jupiters is like walking around on comfy pillows all day, and looking fabulous while you are at it.

No, they are not cheap, but they are totally worth the price.

I was looking at those shoes myself, I think they're cute. Unfortunately, my feet are pretty narrow so I'm not much of a help there. I guess the best thing to do is, if you've got a Target nearby, see if they have it in the store and try them on yourself.

Yeah, not all shoes are made for all people. For example, certain kinds of high heels are designed to look good on people with high arches. Conversely, if you have stubby legs with thick ankles, don't wear flat Mary Janes, because they'll just make you look shorter and thicker.

Second on the flat shoes bit-- I have thin ankles and narrow feet but very thick calves, and low shoes make me look SO dumpy. Sometimes you need a little bit of a heel; I find that sometimes everything short of floor-length skirts makes certain body types look stumpy without a heel, so unless you're going for Aristo... yeah.

Gah! No offense, but you guys are linking like $100 shoes! I wouldn't advise anyone to spend that much on shoes for a Chii cosplay when there are cheaper alternatives.

Only a fraction of these shoes are lolita or Chii appropriate, but great sites to browse:

http://www.electriqueboutique.com
http://www.gothshoes.com (look under funky - GREAT chunky mary janes!!)

And I love this store!! Super cute Japanese styles for much cheaper than the brand names!

http://stores.ebay.com/Little-Chili-Lolita-Shop

Don't be afraid to check your local Payless too - I saw some CUTE mary janes there yesterday for only $9. Ditto with Hot Topic, though I never go there, my friends have gotten really cute shoes there and despite their normal prices, they do go on sale.
