FrolloxEsme? I've heard worse/stranger pairings XD.

lol, Swancon is such a fun name~ It will be really funny to see your mom as Queen Uberta if she does it- I seem to remember Uberta being such a drama queen(no pun intended).

I was part of Hercules the other day- now I'm considering cosplay Meg. Now I'm stuck between her and Esme. What do you think? I have a little gray goat too.

I already found the wig . I looked at some Thumbelina cosplay's, and for some reason all of them are blonde. It's pretty much auburn. I have support too! "I think we dye you blonde!"-Mama Toad.

Beni: Aah, your post snuck up on me...I didn't see it when I posted. Ummm I'd say Meg because that way you don't have to worry about self-tanner. Going as Esme non-tanned would be leaving out a major part of her character.

It's ok, thanks. The votes are actually split about 50/50 right now.
If I do Meg, I won't need a wig though XD.

I'm currently kicking around the idea of pulling together a Briar Rose costume for Wondercon in a couple of weeks. Just the thought of taking public transportation dolled up as Alice in a sketchy part of San Francisco while it's pouring rain makes me feel uncomfortable, lol
And speaking of Wondercon: There's going to be a panel for Disney 2D animation, I'm hoping they'll reveal more of the Princess & the Frog so I'll be sure to take any pictures for my Tiana cosplayers

PS, I know awhile ago someone requested some pictures of the princesses in the gold gowns... http://flickr.com/photos/disneysexua...7607839784020/ sorry if it's already been posted

Fritzy - Thats a really good picture, haven't found one that good yet. A briar rose costume would be so quick and easy.

Beni - I have decided I am going to try to cosplay as only with people with wigs. Its so nice to give your makeup the attention it needs that morning and throw on a wig and you don't have to style because you already did.

Em: Agree with the wig thing. I used to be all about using my natural hair and just trying to dye it the right color but now I'm ALL about wigs. I only use my natural hair for Ariel if it's around kids because it's more believable but I do use my wig for cons/most shoots now and also when the red has faded from my hair. Wigs can be expensive but they really complete a look.

Beni: I'd say Em is right here, a wig for Meg is a must. She has that huge-to-one-side bangs thing going on and a GIANT ponytail. It'll be nearly impossible to do that accurately with real hair.

For our next convention in April we're actually doing the main five princesses, plus Alice and Mulan.

We're doing our costumes based on the movies and not the art from merchandise, so we're being EXTREMELY accurate. Examples: Cinderella's hair is darker, and less blue than in most of the pictures, shades of Aurora's dress, Belle's loops, Snow White's shoes and sleeves, etc.

We're extremely excited for it, though the costumes are so expensive. Belle spent almost $200 on her fabric, and Aurora and Snow White almost over $100 each as well. ><

This looks like a pretty happening fourm.

I've always grown up with Disney movies and thought dressing up as a princess. The two princesses I've always liked and wanted to dress up as was Belle or Kida. I wanted something a little different.

Hence, I'm planning a Princess Kida (Atlantis: The Lost Empire) for the near future. So any help you guys can provided would be greatly appreiated. Pictures, pattern help, anything.

I hope to have fun on this thread.

Thumbelina cosplay would be adorable!

I'm going as Topsy Turvy Esme for AX, and I'm thinking about doing a short dancing skit for the chibi masquerade! I've been thinking up of the choreo, and I'm just glad I have a long time to do this! I'm going to do a bellydance routine. :P

Ama Uzume: Well for Kida, the most important things are skin tone and hair color. Invest in a good wig and if you're not naturally tan, then a fake tan or self-bronzer. Those are two elements of Kida that make her who she is. I've seen her costume made with cheap satin and I think it looks cheap...so since she's royalty I'd invest in some nice casa satin. As for patterns, you might want to build on a pattern for a bikini.
