Finally got the motivation to work on my Merida again, but it was only for a few minutes as company came over. Ill be moving again on tuesday so I'll be working on her shortly afterwards.
Sort of cosplay related, my mother in law found me a nice wig head from a former wig sellers yard sale for a dollar! It's beautiful AND creeps my husband out I have fun with it.
Everyone's updates look wonderful! Keep up the good work!

I still can't get over how pretty this is. Showed it to my roommates and they agree.

@ LKD: Your dress and wig are so beautiful!! Is this after the birthday girl messed it up?? Hopefully it will be a quick fix!! It still looks lovely though!

@ Kiggi: Wow!!! Your bodice is gorgeous!!! I am so excited to see this finished!!!

Cosplay Update: Finally!!! I finished all the embroidery on my Rapunzel skirt, drew out my designs for the middle panel and the bodice, and shipped said designs to the printers for a test swatch!! I am so excited!! I almost have something finished on my Punzie!!

Got the Sebastian for my Melody today! He's so soft and the perfect size. <3

I have a feeling he'll be sitting on my shoulder for most of the night, haha.

@LKD: Wow, both the wig and dress are absolutely lovely. A shame about the birthday girl!
@Kiggi: DAMN. That's gorgeous.
@Siefer: Aaa, congrats!!

Kiggi- love your bodice for Cinderelly! So so stunning!!

LKD- Love your Ariel town dress! Makes me hate mine even more haha! Good job I'm retiring the damn thing! Yours is so so pretty it make me jelly lol

Mooncactus- love your little sebastian, he doesn't look pervy like mine haha!

Cosplay news from me: I THINK I've fixed my fluke issue at least for the time being, and how to go about it when it comes to the sewing process, now to decide one of two decisions I've come to the conclusion with...1) sew the fluke in and put in a 'foot panel' on the inside at the bottom so my feet don't show and then just pull the main tail in so its super fitted and leave it as a non walkable version for the time being (could unpick the stitching to put in a zip at later date) or 1) leave it baggy at the moment, put in an invisible zip first, then sew the fluke in place and then take it in so its super fitted.... I just cant make up my mind as I just want it done now haha

Also decided 100% that at some point I'm going to recycle my Ariel town dress top and turn it into Belle's white top that she wears with her peasant dress lol

I know I was on here at the same time last year sayi g that I was going to cosplay Sally, and then didn't do it, but I really mean it this time!!! I have more seeing experience now, and I think I can tackle Sally. I have a wig question though. I always thought she had yarn hair, and wanted to do that, but after seeing a few yarn wigs that looked... homemade for lack of a better word, I'm a little worried about making it. Do you think it would be better to use a regular wig? I'm kind of coming around to the look of that too, and I can't decide which look I like better anymore. Help please?

If that is the route you want to go, I would suggest making it out of wool roving and buying a wig base. It isn't hard, although it is time consuming and can get pricy depending on where you get the roving. And the result is by far better. Although personally I would go with a regular wig.

Fabu, it should be pointed out that the park character version is a long auburn wig. If you can't get yarn, just buy the wig.

Not speaking for bethany or alyson but making my yarn wig was hell.

Id go with a normal wig to save the trouble XD
I was in tears on halloween when i realized I ran out of yarn D;

If you do go that way, I had a friend knit me a skull cap for the base with the same yarn. Then cut looong strands, bunched some up, found the middle of each and tied them in the center of the cap so the strands would fall to both sides..can't really describe it. Fail.

Heres where i started..i don't think I put much in the back since the hair falls back anyways..ivkinda just bsed thr whole thing.

Here's the fromt finished..lol you can see the bunches since i didn't rrally tie them straight XD

Sorry for scaring you with ny face

BTW thanks ladies ^^
