Right now I'm thinking about doing Jane Porter from Tarzan. I have the skirt figured out. But the collar of the dress confuses me. Anyone have any patterns/tutorials for that?

Seifer- Lol!

More capelet progress!!!! All I need to do now is sew the trim round the actual capelet, then it's 100% finished! Not bad for a quick last minute idea, even if I do say so myself!

@ Shana05: Awesome. As for patterns, I usually just search through eBay for patterns. I bet you could find one there.

@ FuriePhoenix: Awesome!! That was quick and it looks great! Win/win!

Thanks guys!!! Gonna sew on the trim today whilst watching Little Mermaid I think! ^_^! Think I'll switch the fabric over for the fluke of the tail too if I can be bothered!

Furi- Looks good.

I'm getting more done on my Rapunzel embroidery. I'm one or two patterns away from the last pannel on my skirt.

Hey, ladies! Everyone's stuff is looking awesome! I am on a mission to use up a bunch of stash fabric and find myself working on a rather odd choice- Snow White's maid outfit! I chose it because, obviously, I have fabric in my stash for it and because I want to make it realistic, so it will involve a lot of distressing and weathering, which I like. I tea-stained the bodice and am now bleaching fabric for the skirt.

I have a question for you all, though: how do you get your puff sleeves to be puffy? I can never get them to stand up right, even if I put tulle in them. Do I need more layers of tulle? Or should I pleat the tulle instead? Thanks!

Thanks, LKD! That's helpful! I may try a hotdog roll thingy and some interfacing. :P

EDIT
Bleaching my fabric was a success! I am actually a little surprised at how well it turned out; the fabric went from a deep plum to a light grayish-purple color, which is perfect! Somehow, it ended up with a few splotches, but that's fine since I would have been adding them myself later. Now I have to sew it into a skirt, then start distressing it with a wire brush, sandpaper, paint, and dye.

Oy, I'm thinking about making a somewhat simple-ish maroon and purple dress for Princess Sofia [Disney's Sofia the First] for now.. I'm not gonna get the fabric / purple dye I need for the purple movie dress until around Christmas when I get the chance to go shopping.. I hope I'm not bored of the character by then..

That's always been a problem with me: I decide wanna make a character's costume/dress, BUT before I get the chance to get all the fabric / items together to do so [which I hardly ever go shopping because of my anxiety issues], I've grown bored of the character.. :/

Eh.. I'll figure something out.. and I've found a decent crown for her: http://www.cosplay.com/costume/445091/

Well, that's it.. Merry Early Christmas to those who celebrate it.

@ Aurora's Heart: Congrats! Home stretch now!!

@ Suzie Blue: I am not sure what other people do, but I made a separate sleeve under my puffy sleeve and stuffed the inside with tulle, not too much, because then it's too poofy, but just enough to help it keep shape. I hope that helps and good luck with those projects!!!

@ alice4ck: Good luck with your project as well. Post pictures when you get there!
