Remember those "fearleaders" from Monsters U? Her's a picture of them in action.

SleazyNerd - it depends on the look you want for the gown on what type of fabric you use. I am actually using a printed quilting fabric with metallic highlights as my base fabric and then a chiffon overlay rather than a satin. Brocades also work well if you can find them in the right colors.

Furie- Oh good! I was starting to worry that they (alongside my card) never got to you. Let me know the details for exact dates as you figure them out. Do you think we could go to the party together? I could pick you up at your hotel room and go from there.

Kojiro- I thought about doing a casual cosplay of one of the PNK girls. Does that count?

SleazyNerd- I agree with WarriorPrincess. Casa satin is usually my first choice of fabric for many costumes, but it's really up to you. You can also get it cheap if you get coupons, if that helps with your fear of messing up. I get that way with a lot of my costumes, so sometimes I make mock ups while other times I take chances, dive in, and work slowly.

Benehime - Python Nu Kappa may count if you want it to be, but I still like the Fearleader idea myself. Maybe of you combined the two...

And here's the Disneyland version of the Fearleaders:

Sounds like a plan! I THINK we were thinking of around 24th or 25th if we're lucky. But it's all only thoughts at the moment, so will definitely keep you updated! Yeee! I'm getting so excited about the trip, and meeting up with you and others that i've spoken to for so long online!

kojiro- That's a thought! I think I like the DL fearleaders more.

Furie- Can't wait! Thanks for keeping me posted.

Taking a break from Ariel and working on a Snow White cosplay for a friend. Today I got the bodice done(the skirt is from another project). The colors are a bit off from what she originally wears, but she’s happy with it and that’s all that matters.

Benehime78 - One of the pompoms the Disneyland Fearleaders use is actually a puppet with one eye that resembles a monster. Here's a video of it linked from YouTube showing it off.

kojiro- Thanks! Good to know.

Is anyone else thinking of cosplaying from Frozen? Right now, I'm seriously considering cosplaying Anna, but in her ballgown because it looks more Florida-friendly than her other dress.

Well, I'm stil finishing up my Tinker Fairy cosplay, I just need to get some shoes to match now..

I was just wondering: I was reading up today on this girl who dressed up as Tinker Bell and was stopped outside of the Orlando Disney World gates, they told her she had to remove the costume and change into regular clothing because her costume was "too good" and a distraction/confusion to the other guests - so I read more about this rule to learn that the only time Disney allows teens and adults to wear costumes of the characters is during Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party in October, the hours are from 7:00pm to Midnight..

Now I'm confused because I've seen a lot of photos of teens / adults dressed as Disney characters at Disney locations in broad-daylight, nowhere near 7:00 pm. Disneyland in California doesn't allow adults to dress in costumes, either, it seems.. so where these photos coming from?.. Photo shopped, maybe? :/

Alice, it's a little known fact that guests for the Halloween parties are allowed in three hours before the events, but they have to wear a special wristband to designate them as there for the event. This means that visitors are allowed to wear the costumes starting at 4, but they have to pledge not to pose for pictures or give out autographs like regular cast members.

kojirojames2004 - ah, that would explain it, then. Thank you for answering my question, I appreciate it.

I went back and looked through the Disney cosplay pictures, the costumers are wearing wristbands. ^_^

So I'm completely falling behind on my costume for DragonCon. Thankfully, having worked with the patterns before it should come together quickly. I will be booking my flight next week!

Anyone else working on special costumes for D*C?

Supposed you haven't heard the news about the next big summer event in 2014: Phineas and Ferb meets Star Wars. Can you imagine the boys in Jedi outfits? We know that there will be a "Doctor Dath Enshmirtz" involved. Anyone thinking ahead to next year?
