Smile Cosplay Method?

I want to make a costume of Holland from Eureka Seven but am having trouble getting started.

Iím thinking of buying the fabric and cut/stapling it to fit me then sending it to a local seamstress to sew where I stapled.

Is that a common method of making a simple costume? Iím new to thisÖ

Wrong section.

But if you're bothering to take the time to staple it, why not just sew it yourself?

No staples! If you're going to go to a seamstress it would probably just be best to take all your fabric and reference pictures to her, let her measure you, and then let her put everything together.

I agree; why staple it and then have someone else sew it? Figuring out how to put it together is the hard part, not the actual sewing IMO. Also, if you stapled it on, how would you get it off?o_0

I did not even think of having someone else measure me... Yeah, I’m really new to this.

….Thanks, you’ve given me something to think about ^_^
