New Silent Hill Origins news

A few days old.

http://silenthillorigins.com/first-n...-game-play.php

http://silenthillorigins.com/

For the second link, scroll down a bit to see the gameplay trailers.

So aprently, Travis is the one who saved Alessa from the fire. That sucks for him though, getting dragged into it out of kindness.

New gameplay features:

1) Resisting attacks, Travis will have to resist attacks, similar to Resident Evil 4

2) Unarmed combat

3) Plays similar to SH 2 and 3, Its safe to say they won't try SH 4 gameplay again.

I'm very excited, even though I need to actually buy a PSP now.

The new footage also leads one to blieve they gave up on adding locations to the town it didn't need (WTF second asylum?).

There was a first asylum?

Unless your thinking of the prison from 2, or the cult's prison from 4.

I'm kind of pissed that they decided to remove the RE4 perspective, as that would have made the game infinitely more awesome. But ah well.

Brookhaven is technically a mental hospital, remember? They said one of the locations visited in the game was going to be an asylum, but not Brookhaven. This caused some fan backlash, so now it appears he's going to Alchemilia (the medical hospital) instead.

I'm actually glad they got rid of it. It was very un-Silent Hill. The last thing I want SH to be like is Resident Evil. They are both good in their own ways, let's not make one like the other, kay?

I always thought that it didn't have the full equipment and such to be considered a mental hospital.

Well, it has all the neccesary facilties for one. We likely didn't see all of the equipment it had due to it being adandoned and such.

I could make a comment about how up until the fourth game in both series, both series were remarkably similar already, but I won't.

(Though technically I just did.)

At least with the over-the-shoulder perspective gone, people won't claim it's an RE4 ripoff.
