Im going up on Thursday, if theres a possibility of meeting part way between the Chesapeake/VA Beach/etc area I can possibly give you a ride. I'll be leaving after a school day and that depends on the schools, Richmond is another 2hrs to tack onto a four hour trip. If you can't its understandable, but I thought I'd offer.

Any of your friends going? If so, they might be able to take you, and it would probably be safer too. Trust me, I have a hard time myself, I'm not old enough to drive yet. T.T
