[Kiarrens]

Hiya fellow FMA cosplayers. We're in search of a good Hughes for a skit, possibly exhibition in the masquerade. We won't be competing as far as craftsmanship is concerned, but I would still like to see pictures of you in your costume ahead of time for quality control.
If you want to participate, you need to be available for a rehearsal sometime on either Friday or Saturday morning, and you will need to supply me with a reliable means of communication at the convention (cell phones are preferable).

I think as long as I can get a room and figure out how to get down there (and hope my manager likes me enough to let me take another weekend off), then I'll be the Hughes. Love the script. I did the math, and it looks like it'd be slightly cheaper hotel-wise and whatnot than it was for me for AB. Plus I'll be getting birthday cards from relatives with monies inside in like 3 weeks. I just need to gather some info mostly on how to get down there before I actually get a room and register for the convention. Should be interesting though, being my first convention that isn't Anime Boston.

Where are you coming from?
The Convention center is REALLY easy to get to via either 91 or 84...
(I took 91 last year, and I'm probably taking 84 this year.)

I'm 30 minutes north of Boston, right off I-93. Also, I can't take my car down. I kinda share a car with my mom, so taking it for a weekend isn't doable. I'll probably end up taking a train or something both ways, unless somehow there's a reliable person going that lives close enough to me to give me a ride.

I was trying to figure out where Kiarrens heard about me. Seems I made a good impression at AB.

Oh, damn. I'm coming from South of CT, and I know nothing about the mass transit system in the area. I'd throw out the idea of renting a car, but it tends to get pricy if you don't get a discount somehow. (I get a discount through work, and it still adds up since I need to buy the extra insurance.) All you'd need to do driving is take 93 and hop on the Pike from there, get off at either 84w or 91s and follow the signs for Hartford. I think the exit is Columbia avenue or something like that. Convention Center is literally RIGHT off the highway. (I know New England highways far too well for someone living north of Philadelphia.)

I guess you know you've 'arrived' on the cosplay scene when people start referring you to be in others' skits. I actually had a weird experience on C.com the other day where someone replied to one of my posts with "OMG! I can't believe I'm actually talking to you!" (SRSLY WTF?!?)

Though I'm sure there will be people driving from the Boston area (a few of my friends included) I'd suggest taking a bus. I believe its a much more direct route than a train would take, but I'm not sure. Good luck! Can't wait to see the skit

One way or another by car or by bus or by train, I'll figure it out.

I had a feeling all the tweaking to my Hughes cosplay would get more noticed compared to the year before, but I had no idea how much so. Even my military swimsuit I threw together for the swimsuit gathering. I had my shirt off for not more than 15 seconds, and between the bathing suit and the tattoo, I had 6 people come up to me right away all like, "You are a God!", and then they had a bunch more people come over.

I noticed it was going over well when my friends wouldn't walk anywehere with me because with all the pictures it would take 20 minutes to get anywhere. And the one time I decided to walk from the 2nd floor to Dunkin Donuts with my friend, who was the Sanosuke cosplayer this year with the 9' zanbatou, it took us a half hour, and then the return trip. At one point after one of the pictures, we kinda just booked it for time's sake.

I live about 30 minutes south of Hartford, so I'll be commuting to and from the convention, but if you need a ride from the train station or bus depot to the center I'll be all too happy to pick you up.

Alright, so I just need to find a definite schedule for getting down there or back as far as train or bus, find a cheap place to stay, and register for the con itself, all of which in that order.

If this skit thing doesn't work out, no biggie. I'd be bringing the costume anyway since I'll be in Chess on Sunday. Sucks tho. Bummer that you won't be at the con, Lyndsey...

Might have been hectic for me anyway since I'll more than likely be doing Hall Cosplay on Friday too.

I am all about the paperwork.
And that's not even speaking in character.
You should have seen the sh!t-ton of paperwork I had for AB Masq stuff this year.

That would be me, lol and i only know of you from seeing you at AB and talking with Kiarrens. But you do make an awesome Riza. I have been handed the coordinator position of this skit from kiarrens since she can't make it. I am going to be the Roy in the skit. And if you guys saw me, i was the roy at AB who put on the flame v.s. metal fight with Kiarrens. As of now we are looking for an ed to replace kiarrens, she said that she was going to ask someone she knows if she can do it for us.
