No, I don't wanna go to school! I finally started the skorts and I want to sew but school and DDDDDDDDDDX!

Man. ;_;

Cut out the glove-thingies and blah blah blah.

If none of my wigs arrive in time I'm not cosplaying. >_>;; Shannon and I'll drop outta the competition. (And man, I spent so long on that skit!) We can always do it next year.

...And I'll have to keep her from cosplaying until we can do it. She needs to remain a newbie. >_>

Anyone else still having problems with their cosplays?

I knoe i am. T.T
Its the fact that i have SOO much to do in SOO little time.

Yesterday i decided to go get some fabrics and actually make a start.
So i started with the Rikku songstress costume.
I came out with 1 meter of oragne silk and a meter of this purpley shimmery stuff

for 21 BUCKS!!!

I nearly died when i saw the price, friggin spotlight!

Anyone know any good, cheap fabric stores?

usually......... you get what you pay for (ie. cheap fabric = cheap quality)

usually......... I can do all my cosplay stuff out of cotton and a complete outfit is <$60. Sometimes you need something a little more specific, and then the types of fabric/weave/treatment/etc unless you luck out with a sale (and I am always looking for sales) then you will pay for what you need.

I am guessing you are in melbourne so I can't help you with specific locations/stores.

Soooo... how IS everyone's costumes going?

I've got most of my Saturday one done (just some details left, which I know are going to take FOREVER >_<), and I've got to build some props for my Sunday one. X_x

Well all my outfits are done except for a ball dress. Which I have no idea how I'm going to pull off. I have a pattern I want to use but it requires 8.7m of fabric X_x [Dress pattern] It's just so pretty~~~ but..so..expensive to make X_X I might end up wearing my formal dress in the end lol who knows~ All I know is that I'm going to be stressing til the last minute per usual. Namely because of Tafe and its collision with it all =/

I'm wearing Balthier on Saturday (about 70% finished, see sneak pic photo in my profile), and Ryuuoh on Sunday (100% completed, some photos on my profile).

That's good to hear they're all going well!

Today, after months of torment, Yukimura's breastplate is finally my bitch! XD Not so sure about the back plate though... >_<

I'm not going to the ball... my ugly step-sisters are making me scrub the floor. So I won't get to see half these fancy costumes - so take lots of photos!!! I get into Melbourne on Friday night and leave Monday morning. *shakes fist at work*

Seishin - hahahaa! You can never go wrong with cheap party satin, amirite?

Seriously, girlie, get your butt over to the northside, and I will show you THE GREATEST fabric shop in the universe! You will go, "8.7 metres? Ha! Give me 10!" (this is where all of Melanie's money goes...)

What colour are you making the dress? I can have a look at what sort of awesome fabric they have next time I'm at the shop, if you like?

hahahaha @ party satin XD

=O Where is this magical shop of brilliance?? [knowing my luck its about 2 hour drive from me XD]
The skirt and sleeves will be white[The large amount of fabric is for those parts] and the bodice a combination of gold and white fabric [I've drawn up a design if you wish to see it ^_^] It would be incredibly appreciated if you could find some nice/cheap georgette/crepe de chine fabric for the skirt/sleeves [I dont really know which one is better ^^;{Yeah, I'm still learning my fabrics^^;} but I'm sure you will pick the best looking one *nod*]. I can find some fabric for the bodice. *nod* =D Just let me know the price range and I'll let you know if I can afford it =D Thanks so much for helping me out Mel *BIG huggles X3*

I am going as the female Akatsuki member for the ball and for the weekend as Larxene from Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories....and I might go as Axel for a day :3

Hehehee! I think it was a reference to the fancy old chairs at the uni... they make very nice backgrounds for cosplay photos.
