Oh, I'm in Waterloo. This sounds kinda interesting. Though is it anything like WatCon? Because that really wasn't... cosplayer friendly. Eh, anyway, I've never been to Guelph I fear getting lost actually. ><

There are always a couple of scary people - it happens when you get into the stuff that we're all into. It's like conventions, there is always someone who is a little strange :P I'm i'm not that young either, i'm a guelph alumni lol.

Gryphcon isn't really a cosplay convention - although i'm sure we could change that *evil grin* lol.

Ahaha, nice! I think the main thing was I just couldn't get into the people that went to FLASH events, if that makes any sense. I won't really have the time to take it on this year though, I'm doing IHC (Interhall Council for non-uog'ers, although that probably doesn't clarify ANYTHING) on top of working and other costuming, and then school on top of all of that. However, if there's plans for cosplaying at Gryphcon or just random cosplaying get togethers, that I might actually be interested in.

I live in Kitchener, my friend in Cambridge. We should find out some way to get a anime con running near these areas.

I just finished at U of Waterloo. I still go back on the rare occasion, not for school, but cause I have friends who live/go to school in the area still. I'll be in Cambridge on the weekend of the 20th actually.

As for Watcon, last I heard, they were gonna reschedule for this fall, but somehow I doubt that it's going to happen (I stopped reading exec list emails from CTRL-A, the anime club, quite some time ago). If it happens, I'd totally go and be in awe that it happened, but if it doesn't, I wouldn't be surprised (I was surprised we pulled it out of our asses so fast last time).

You know you totally want to go with me again in 08 though. (Too late, you're going.) =P

I wanna cosplay all out for shits and giggles too. It'll be fun to be in some kind of nerdy costume while everyone else is only wearing stuff for vamp LARP. Maybe they'll have more of a console gaming section to add to all the table top gaming. V_V;;;

Edit: As for general take on Gryphcon. It wasn't something I'd put on par with even the smallest of the anime cons I've gone to, but it was 1) free (for me at least) and 2) I met some awesome people in artist alley who also went cause they could go for free, and we had some good times in the basement playing giant DS party and making general jackasses of ourselves. I'm sure my really bad cold took away from the con experience, but while I was still feeling human on Friday, it was nice.

hahahahaha hopefully I have DS by then...

I think going all out cosplay would be fun hopefully I finish something cool enough to wear.

If you could get your bodysuit costume done that would be soooo cool.

I'd feel kinda dumb wearing something totally unrelated, so might try for something mostly game based at least. I'd like to maybe have a couple more decent costumes by next spring, so maybe I wouldn't feel so douchebag if I could wear something nice looking and not total shit.

I was gonna wear something more game related this year, but then I had random stuff left behind at home and the location's not the best for having space to store/change into full costume and stuff. Also doesn't help that the basement factor means my random fall-asleep-in-reduced-lighting came into full swing without anything to actually obscure my vision (which both Ulala sunglasses and my Roxas contacts would have done and those were the only game costumes I had with me at school). D=
