Final Fantasy character knit fabrics

Ok, since this was a multi-character question I made a seperate thread instead of digging through the old ones. I hope that's alright.
Well, turns out I may be making Final Fantasy costumes for two friends of mine. The problem is I can't seem to find the correct fabric to use. I'm willing to buy online, but only if it's as accurate as possible. That and I'm having trouble with one of my own. If I knew how to knit I'd do it myself, but I don't have time to learn, so this may be my only way.
For some reason it's not letting me attach these pictures, so here are links to all of them:

I hope these pictures are ok. They're the best I have right now. For Lightning, it's her zip-up turtle neck looking shirt under her vest. For Rinoa, her duster (of course). And for Cloud, well, his whole outfit pretty much.

Sorry it's a lot to ask. I've been searching and searching online and in the only fabric store in town. So far nothing. Any help would be better then what I have now. Thank you so much!!!!

I'd try your local salvation army. For my friend's Cloud shirt we went there and found a turtle neck sweater there for $3! I just ripped the seams on the sleeves and added a zipper.

Looks like you can't find any ribbed fabric, my friend.

I was damn lucky--I managed to get enough ribbed stuff for both me and my niece before the single bolt my fabric store had disappeared mysteriously without a trace.

For Rinoa: Ideally, you'd be able to find a two-by-two (2x2) ribbed knit in sportweight, or size 2 yarn. However, anything with slightly less than half-inch wide ribs would be fine.

For Cloudy boy: This time it's ribbed 2x1. Worsted weight (size 4), which would probably be easier to find, along with a big bulky zipper to sew in.

For Lightning: Go for microknit fabric--for the body, it's 1x1 or mock ribbed. The neck is 2x1. A light brown turtleneck is probably the easiest out of these three to find, though, and you'd be able to sew in the zipper.

Hope this helps .

Thank you two very much!! I appreciate the help. My mom suggested Salvation Army and Good Will as well. Guess I'll be driving around trying to find them this weekend. lol.

And Raedyn, those were a help! I guess I'll go into the fabric store again now that I have a specific name for what I'm looking for.

I wonder if there are any sites online that sell ribbed knit fabric...?? Hm. Guess I'll have to keep on looking. Thanks again! I swear, my Hancock Fabric store is going to know me by name. I've been to that store every other day for the last week and spent so much money. It's ridiculous.
Thanks again!!

Man, I feel your pain. I couldn't find any ribbed fabric for my Yuna costume near me, and ended up driving an hour to get it. Do you have any fabric warehouses nearby? That's where I found mine. Now my next costume needs it too (joy!). XD;;

Sorry I can't be of much help, but I just wanted to wish you luck.

ravenmist: You're welcome. Always happy to help. XD

I also have a pattern/tutorial for Rinoa's duster that's slowly gathering dust:

You might want it, yes?

dark feather: I think there may be one somewhere in Atlanta, but that's about an hour a half to two hours away from me. Maybe I can persuade a friend of mine to come with and spend a day in Atlanta. lol. Couldn't hurt, right?

Raedyn: That tutorial is amazing! I printed it out and saved all the images. VERY very helpful!! Thank you so much.
And turns out my friend changed her mind on Rinoa, now she wants to do Aerith. lol. Ah wells. I think I'll do Rinoa then.
Thanks again!!

Rinoa: Yarn section / Check walmart $1 yd. if there's a fabric section in one near you. Good luck with the costumes.

When I was searching for Rinoa, I found a fabric that closely resembled the ribknit... Let me see if I can find the link
