Corpse prosthetic anybody???

Hi. ^^

I have a big costume coming up, and it involves making my pretty little face being completely shriveled and dead. Here's what I wanna be when I grow up(and die); or just this year at AWA XIII:

I don't personally like tweaking with theatre makeup on my face; I tend to break out too easily. I would really like a prosthetic of some sort that I could potentially get as close as humanly possible to the actual thing. I've seen a handful of good ones in some stores online, but they ran about $70 and I'm not sure I can pull that much on one, my mom might shit a brick. So if anyone at all could provide advice on the matter or better yet a link to a cheaper prosthetic store online I would be very grateful. ^_^

Thanks in advance!

I am mainly not of help with these things, but the first thing that comes to my mind would be some type of latex mask (like the ones you see for halloween). Problem is that I dont quite know where one could find one like this, so it closely resembles Alucards head... Worst comes to worst you could possibly pour your own and such... but that may be too troublesome. I wish you best of luck with Alucard corpse, I would love to see how it turns out <3

These kits run pretty cheap, I've been planning on trying it myself but it looks really good. I'm not sure if thats the right product but they have tons of videos with different things that may be useful.

Bofa: Thanks. :3 I might try to find some latex at a local costume store and mess around with it for the fun of it. I'd really like to be able to find a mask like you mentioned, but as you said it should be difficult finding one that looks right.Alucard made a weird looking 20 year old corpse. XD I'll definately put pics up if it works out. ^_^

agent airline: very cool, thanks a lot. XD I'm gonna check out that video as soon as my dial up pulls the stick outta it's butt.

The Gel 10 is so friggin' awesome. It is genuine professional grade stuff. It sets fast and looks better than liquid latex.

Only problem here is that this particular kit is pre-tinted to be flesh-toned, the character in question is pale-faced, and silicone does not accept makeup at all. (nothing sticks to silicone except silicone)

The solution is to buy untinted silicone (fxwarehouse.info sells it in the same size, brick in the yard, the guys who made that video probably would if you called and asked them if it isn't on their site already, they's really good people) and then mix pure cosmetic powder pigments into part 'B' prior to mixing to color it white. I understand that's probably more of a pain in the butt than you are interested in going through

i have some pictures of walking horrors in my account. what i do (and it's budget savvy) is fake skin to make textures and the like on the skin. you might need spirit gum to make sure it doesn't try to outsmart you. anyways, since you don't want as blotchy makeup as i was content to use (or that's what i gather from the picture) use either mehron's stuff (i like it and it's inexpensive) or other people recommend ben nye and other stuff. of course, it WILL feel disgusting (i got complaints from the guy i made up) so you might just as well go with the other stuff.

Verdatum: Hm, it doesn't sound too bad. I can do tedious work on it as long as it doesn't take hours upon hours. I'll definately look into that; thanks. ^^

SeraphimRed: I'll try that as well. Cheapness is good for me. XD Both sound pretty good, it's worth a try. I'm not too worried about the disgusting feeling.. I'm pretty tolerant to nastiness.

But I'll check around for this stuff. Hopefully somewhere in my area will have it so I don't have to order online. :3 Thanks guys!
