Hand Sharpie the colour in (or any alcohol based marker will work, Prismacolor, TRIA colour markers).

I just thought I'd say since a lot of people loved our costumes we had a lot of questions about our materials.

Cloak

In case it was anyone here, we used moleskin, which is easier to work with then leather and cheaper. It can be picked up at Jo-anns for 8.50 and www.fabricbytheyard.com for 5.00, and is much easier to sew and manipulate. It is as easy to work with as twill and looks like leather, while not being insulated allowing the cloak to remain cooler than leather..

I just thought I'd throw that out there.

Verbannen, your cloak link is broken. You need to remove the " at the end. http://images.cosplay.com/showphoto.php?photo=1186183

Another zipper supplier (since Stan's website is down, at least when I checked it two seconds ago). They're cut to length aluminum #10, which will run about $13.25 plus shipping (which for me was $4 or so), and take about a week (if USPS is being nice, if USPS freaks out, then two weeks).

http://www.zippersource.com/

Also, concerning moleskin, while it has the right drape, its a little light, so you'd have to line it (a good way to get the correct weight would be to line it with more moleskin). A word about sewing with moleskin though, it can be slippery, so make sure you pin it well, otherwise its a good beginner material (and if you have to redo some of the seams a lot, it won't show at all).

I have come up with a idea now how to make Larxene's kunai - especially when you need them quick - like me XD

Buy some white pieces of thin foam - the kiddies soft craft foam. Cut them out to the shape of the kunai's. And colour them using texta's - i prob go with the good old Sharpies :3

I'll post pics when I am done ^^

Quick question

On the back of the coat, is there only the side seams and the center back seams? Or is there more? >.>

I used regular lining that you would find at JoAnns for things like suits or dresses...I can't remember the specific name for it (lining? XD) but it's polyester, I believe. It's about $2/yard...but that stuff is EXTREMELY slippery as well, and I had problems with just pinning it down and cutting it because the fabric would shift so much, the shapes didn't exactly match up right.

you could probably get away with lining pleather with a light cotton, but I don't know how well it would work. The problem is that if you sweat in the coat, it's going to stay in the cotton and smell...really bad...XD;; which is why I went with the slippery lining...it's easy to slip on and also really easy to clean without having to worry about cleaning pleather.

Good link

I found a good link that shows the back seam detail to almost the end of the coat. This is a magazine scan courtesy of Kingdom Hearts Ultimania

I just found the most awesome pattern for my organization coat. It's another vintage coat pattern like the one on the first page. Can I have everyones opinion?

all I have to say is that this pattern did not work very well for me...then again, i may have gotten stuff wrong...i'm kinda notorious for doing that...anyways, my mock-up didn't even look remotely close to the coat...

i'm so confused....
