Buckles ( repost )

I posted this in cosplay newbie section, which no one has answered yet and I really need an answer soon - and I don't think some of the newbies can handle this one? So just to make sure I'll ask here too, sorry for a second thread buuut..

I am making Vincent Valentine and I am making these leather straps which are purely cosmetic. To make the costume look better they don't actually function as straps but I need 12 of these little things and 6 fake buckles, problem is.. I have no idea what to make them out of! They're black with a silver upraised part looking thingie

Kinda like that, I'm just going to glue them to the leather straps, but I have no idea what to make it out of.. They're currently made out of foam with 3D paint for the upraised parts, but it looks sloppy, any ideas what else to make them out of? I want to know ASAP

Have you tried going to a fabric store and buying some? If you can find silver ones that look like what you're going for, you can use black paint to colour what shouldn't be silver. It's probably a lot easier than making them. If you can't find any that look quite right, make the detail out of some sort of modelling clay and glue it on. Or, just make the entire buckle out of clay. I would suggest something like sculpey that takes finer detail.

My local stores don't have those type of Buckles, and those other things which go on the sides either.. and they do have .. sooome buckles for about like.. 2 dollars a piece and I need like 15 of them.. I don't feel like spending 30+ dollars on buckles

and I've tried to make like.. Cloud Strife's belt buckle out of clay once, it looked kinda sloppy.. I didn't care for sculpy too much

You could try making your own buckles from wire coat hangers. Wal-Mart sells them.
