The REAL Ocarina of Time...

I figured this would be the best place to put it, since it is a video game item...

www.songbirdocarinas.com

These guys are great if you want an actual, playable ocarina. They make the fairy and Time versions too. I picked up an extended range for my b-day last month...and have very few complaints. [they would be a perfect compliement to Link cosplayers too]

And before anyone asks if this is Nintendo approved....I found the ad in Nintendo Power....they've had an ad in there for at least 6 months.

Isn't that the one that's really small compared to how big the in-game one looks? ^^;

Small in an adult's hands (which is kinda how it was in "older" Link too. )

Yeah, but not uber small. I think that's the one XeroRadius has.. and it looks small for child Link. ^_^; Or maybe it's just me being an anal Zelda player. >_>

I spent a few minutes going around the site, though, and they had interesting video and audio clips of Zelda songs being played. o_O Dunno what was up with the video, though. Wasn't necessary to add visuals of some dude..

He's trying to sell the instrument...it helps to show it actually being played. I can make a clay ocarina, paint it up and say it works...but you wouldn't beleive it till you paid the 50 yourself, or saw it in action.

I'd believe it since it was Nintendo approved, but seeing it in action shows how small it is. I wouldn't get my own. o.o

*goes to attempt to build own ocarina* :P!!!

I bought one a few years ago from http://www.anitasocarinas.com ... They're not game reproductions, they're actual instruments.. ^^ But Nintendo ordered a few for their executives from her..

Quote:
Nintendo of America ordered three orcarinas from Anita's Ocarinas in April 1999. The ocarinas were special gifts for three executives at Nintendo Japan. Among the three executives is the famous Shigeru Miyamoto (the original creator of Zelda series of games). The other two are Yoshiaki Koizumi and Yasuhiro Minagawa.
They're really beautiful, and they play really nice. ^^ Not cheap, either, but if you're looking for something along these lines, they're great. ^^ I like them a little bit more than the others because they're not trying to look like the one from the game.. They're the ones the game is trying to look like. ^.~

Mah.

I got mine from Songbird and I'm quite satisfied with it. It even came with a few of the songs from OOT in the songbook. While it is rather small compared to the real Ocarina, it's also the wrong variety. Link's Ocarina has eight seperate notes while Songbird's only has five. Either way, I still like it. ^_^

I bought my ocarina at a store in Seattle. o.o Looks exactly like the Ocarina of Time, but it doesn't have the Triforce, and its a 10-noted instead of 5. ^^;; But it's nice.

Yes.
It was the first thing I ever bought over the net. ^^;

Thank you for the links.
I may buy more ocarinas in the future.
