Ala Mascot Contest?

We're pondering a "Dress like Ala" (our mascot) contest of some sort. So far we've heard from one person who'd like to participate. Would anyone else care to express an opinion?

I have wanted to cosplay as Ala before, I just never got around to makeing a cosplay

ALA is a cute anime character...^_^
but i have only seen the top part of ALA outfit..

I think this is a cute idea, but I'm obviously very biased on that opinion ^_~

Just a thought, but it might help the thread if the term "cosplay" was added to the topic title so people knew it was cosplay related

I would be interested. :3 It would be so fun if the winner got to be the official Mascot and would appear at events and stuff.

it'd be a cute idea, especially if there was a specific time set up for the contest so cosplayers would know in advance if it would conflict with other gatherings and so on. I second the opinion that if this were to be made possible, there needs to be more fullbody references of "ALA".

That being said, the Ala mascot is pretty cute and I would totally cosplay her. :P

Hazel Chaz - I just meant to add the word "Cosplay" or even "Look Alike Contest" to the title to see if it would attract more attention. People love costume contests and may not be clicking the topic not knowing what exactly the thread is about. Sorry if my suggestion didn't quite come across as that. I'm just trying to help!

For everyone asking about what Ala looks like/wears there are several places you can look -

~Anime Los Angeles Site under Publicity/Postcards.
~The postcards you regularly receive if you are signed up. Several artist draw her for them! There was even a great flyer done by Jessica Gaona.
~The Program book from years previous if you've attended the convention and still have them
~Artwork of Ala - a page I put together of the various art I've done of Ala (yes, I'm the artist who created Ala ^^; )

I knew it was a costume contest...I think it would be super cute!! XD And I agree that it should have a really specific time so cosplayers could get to their gatherings and stuff.

Wow, I mentioned to my friend I was thinking of cosplaying Ala this time around, because I didn't want to lug around my other costumes (involving props, hats, big fragile things that take up valuable packing space) and he pointed out this thread to me. So thats pretty neat. I think I'll stick with it then.
