haruhi suzumiya cosplay...

i was wondering how you made your haruhi school uniform! It can be the summer version or the winter one!

I am curious and want help on how to start this costume!
If you used a pattern, it'd be lovely if you shared... :-)

i did the winter one because i have a huge tattoo on my wrist but i would have liked to do the summer one because its cuter.

anyway, what i did was go to joann fabrics and buy a pattern for the skirt. if you want you can PM and ill send you the name of it and everything. i just dont have it on me.

then i went to a department store and found this awesome white shirt with a low neck and little gathered cuffs. then i bought and extra yard of the fabric i used for the skirt to make the collar. to do that, i drew up a pattern on a paper bag, cut out the pattern on the folded fabric (to make two identical pieces) i lined it so there wouldnt be any seams, meaning i sewed the two pieces together inside-out then flipped them. then i just attached it to the blouse i bought and made little cuffs for the shirt.

oh! and i bought this stuff. i cant think of what its called because its late and im retarded, but its for hemming and it looks like a cloth ribbon and its really soft and great for stripes. and it comes in a ton of colors.
