Arrow Cream-Type Face/Body Paint

So...I need to find some good face/body paint of a cream base kind. I've look into art stores like Michael's and JoAnn's and they told me they didn't sell any... ; ; ....

I also went to a hobby store that sold some, mostly water-based, runny-like, and real easy to come off and peel. One of them was a Kryolan type, which got my hopes up, but it said "water reducible" which got me worried.

With that said, any suggestions and/or locations where I can find these (I live in SoCal, primarily near the L.A area somewhat).
Online is ok...so pwease post weblinks but I will only resort to them last as I do not have paypal/parents will not pay online with credit card so I must go through friends for these orders.

Thank you~!

Check out a costume store, or maybe even a high-quality party store. Art and craft stores generally don't sell makeup.

The creme-based body paint I have is Mehron, and I got the creme sticks. I like them, but be sure to get a power and/or sealer spray to seal it once you put it on, or else it'll stay tacky and will smear off.

Ok...so I dont know any costume stores of high-quality party stores near me...and I highly doubt Party City would count...>_>

I know about the powder but where do you get the sealed spray?

Check the phone book?

(Sealer or fixer spray is usually available at places where you can buy costume makeup. Ask a clerk to help you find it if you don't see it.)

Since you live in SoCal there is a costuming store here in Gardena called Fantasy costumes

http://www.fantasycostume.net/bennyemakeup.html

Ben Nye, Krylon, Mehron

Dont forget to pick up a bottle of spray fixer, so that it doesn't smudge/rub off.

For cream makeups you need powder to set it; spray alone will do nothing. The spray fixer is intended for makeup that goes on wet and then dries, like Kryolan's Aquacolor.

For cream makeups I recommend Kryolan or Ben Nye; I found Mehron's to be too tacky.

Thanks all for your input! I'm gonna try and see if I can go to that store Annie-Mei suggested.

What brand would you all suggest for a design like so:

Ex 1
Ex 2
Ex 3
Ex 4

And also Miyavi's tattoos...

For designs like that I would definitely recommend Kryolan Aquacolor or a similar cake-style makeup; much easier to just paint on, let dry and then use a spray fix. Why do you want a cream makeup specifically? I find that cream makeups are best for all-over face use as they are easiest to blend.

Because c.com Camion used it to make great looking Miyavi tattoos, however, she lives in Malaysia, which is most likely where she got the paint. Had I'd known this, I would've looked when I went to Singapore/Malaysia last summer *FAIL*

She used cream-based paint with powder to make it look real...it was also resistent to water and wouldn't come off without rubbing/scrubbing.

This idea to use powder based makeup to mute a tattoo effect is rather clever. I rather wish it was posted on this board instead

But it's not terribly crucial. With a bit of practice, you can get some convincing tattoo effects from Aquacolor. Makeup sealant makes it as friction proof as creme makeup, and nearly as waterproof. certainly sufficient for cosplay under normal conditions.

I actually used Mehron for those, teehee. I have no idea about brands and where to get them, it's just what I found at that time (the only thing they had)

Thanks guys! Your input is really helpful. The tattoo issue was probably the most important to me since I'm doing the tattoos for my boyfriend. I'm sensitive to the smell of sharpies so I had to find an alternative...

Hopefully this goes well for me, I've never wore make-up in my life let alone work with it for another person...
