This is not a convention, mainly becuse it's going to be at my house and I can't support more than 10-12 people.

Get to know your fellow South Florida cosplayers at Neko's 1st Cos-Swap meet and Lolita tea party. Bring a huge box of your fabric remnants, retired costumes, clothes, shoes, cosplay materials, wigs....everything having anything to do with cosplay or anime to trade with others who 'get' this crazy hobby. Share stories, trade secrets, organize future cosplay groups, and get to know everyone outside of conventions! Think of it as a cosplay bazzar where currency could be buttons, manga, or this weird peice of ____ that could totally be a prop. Get tips or even find a commissioner.

Takes place Saturday, September 29th (before Halloween and all the winter cons) at Neko's house in Coral Gables between 1pm and 5pm. There will be tea and snacks, you can dress up or come 'normal'. Since it is at my duplex (which is kinda small) I can only have about 10 people before it becomes a fire hazzard. The only requirement is that you bring a positive attitude and a huge box of good stuff to trade. Oh yeah, and no one under 13, there is to be PG-13 language (f*ing bobbins!). I have a pet bird so if you are allergic please keep this in mind.

What I'm hoping to do is to start an in-person club or cosplay lab in the So. FL area so we can all help each other out. This is kinda a test-run to see how things go. It's only at my house because its free, if I had rented a ballroom or something I would have had to charge people, which isn't cool. If everything goes well I hope to do several of these a year and potentially move it to a larger venue. If we do decide to start a club there will be positions available (treasurer, secretary, coordinator, etc) while it doesn't pay it'll be an awesome title to have if this gets any bigger...who knows maybe one day we will have our own convention.
