I made it out of a light weight wood... there were issues with warping and shattering. so I used PVC... in who though to answer your question no it's not that heavy at all.

So, since my boot covers (Lady, DMC4) ended in disaster, I just have to ask here:
What did you DMC4 Ladys do for the boots? |

I got mine from online.. They don't fold down like her's does, but that doesn't matter to me..
(I'll find the link later )I couldn't find it. It was on ebay though.

Boots that are close to hers are proving to be difficult to find... and I am a stickler for accuracy.

I like accuracy too, but when you can't find a boot like that, you go for the next best thing.
![]() http://myworld.ebay.ca/frazzledapril is where I got the boots, but they don't look they are selling the boots I got. @Midnight: HOLY SMOKES. YOUR GOING TO SAKURA CON?! I'm going to Sakura Con too. I'm gonna try to get my Kalina Ann across the border. <3

Finally done with the shirt! Finished painting and drying Friday night.
http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y18...e/dmcshirt.jpg Some making of photos if anyone cares to look: http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y18...g/IMG_5777.jpg http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y18...g/IMG_5783.jpg http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y18...g/IMG_5785.jpg --------------------------------------------------- DarkFujin, if I were making Lady I would ask Nefeline or AllstarAlice where they purchased their base shoes. Hell, I was thinking about asking anyways cause Lady's boots are hot. I already have a pair of long suede boots that if some eyelets and boot hooks were added to they would look close to Lady's. Perhaps you can hit up the payless for these: http://www.payless.com/Images/300x30..._1_300x300.jpg

I asked Nefeline once, and I think she told me she just got lucky and found some. I think she modified them a bit, but I don't remember. But yeah, I guess I should ask AllStarAlice. Those two are seriously amazing DMC4 Lady cosplayers. Last edited by DarkFujin : 02-08-2009 at 09:52 PM. |

Thank you for liking my boots.. ^__^ I feel honored. And yeah, DarkFujin is right, I was totally lucky to find a cheap pair on ebay that worked pretty well as a basis. Anyways, to all you fellow Lady cosplayers with boot-troubles out there - here is what I did: (beware of crappy english! O_O) What I got were simple black knee-high lace-up boots. I spray-painted them brown, added the cuffs (using faux leather, also spray painted the right colors) by hand-sewing them on top of the boots and putting the eyelets into the cuffs. As for the heels.. the boots originally had kinda weird U-shaped heels, so I simply used modeling clay to get them in the same shape like Lady's and painted them brown. And: I added new shoe-laces. They are in a lighter brown than the boot itself - a minor detail, but it makes a HUGE difference on the whole look! ^_^ It's quite tricky to get the cuffs the right shape, so they won't look weird, but once you got that right, the rest is pretty easy. ^^ Unfortunately I won't come home until next weekend, but once I do, I can take some close-up pics of my boots, if that would be of any help. Also, maybe I can find some pics of my boots before I altered them. oÔ I also did a quick research and found some boots that I think would be a great basis to work with: ebay 01 02 03 non-ebay boots little pricey.. winter editon? ^^ hell.. even amazon has pretty decent ones.. booyah!! XD The color doesn't matter at all. Just be sure to get knee-high lace-up boots. ![]()

Speaking of boots. Durring the time I was wearing my boots, they got some damage taken to them. Just some damage to the leather, but it looks really noticable and I dunno what to do about it. but Nefeline said you could spraypaint boots? Is it true?? what kind of spraypaint??
Also one of the heals seems like its going to break off if I wear them much longer, anyone know of ways I can get them to be stronger? It'd be neat to put the cuffs on, but I'm not skilled enough.. (I don't think, anyway.) And one other thing that's been on my mind, is the collar to my coat/the whole coat itself. See, mine has 2 buttons, not the one. AND the collar is very small. Is there a way to repair this, or do you think I should start over?

Ah, Nefeline! Thanks for popping in here and giving advice. It helps a lot.
By the way, I love more than just your boots, I love your whole outfit! One quick question though... What kind of spray paint did you use? And does it crack a lot, or does it hold up? |

For all you DMC 4 Lady's, may I ask what patterns (if any) were used for the coat and shorts? As for spraypaint for boots, if they are vinyl, the spraypaint for plastics should work, but I dont know for sure whether it would crack or not. |

For the shorts, I just grabbed a generic shorts pattern and did some slight modifications to it. |
