Hey all!

I just decided to go as a Red Medic for the New York Comic Con, but I have a problem. I'm having issues finding the right glove. Does anyone know where I can get a pair that looks legit? Dishwashing gloves are too thin and look bad.

Thanks!

If u can find long latex gloves, I'm sure you could dye them. Though you'll probably have to dye them multiple times if you wanna get it bright enough.

Of course, if you wanna be the BLU medic, then it'd be easy to get it the right color BLU ftw

I'm in need of help myself.
I bought some tan leather vinyl for Sniper's pouch and quiver. I already have the templates drawn out and ready to trace onto the vinyl. However, I'm just having trouble figuring out which way to make them. I'm not sure how I want to go about making the skeleton of the quiver and pouch. I was thinking I could trace the templates on white hard felt, glue the edges together so I now have the frame, then I take the frame and coat it in one layer of fiber glass resin all around it. (Yes, white hard felt actually absorbs the resin, making it hard. it's also a good technique to make armor out of.)
(I have a lot more to say, but for some reason it won't let me make a longer post...)

I'll be honest, I have no idea how fiber glass works, but from what I can tell, you want to make a cylinder (with one open end) out of the hardened felt and glue the leather vinyl onto that. I'm not sure sewing it on would work unless you did it before applying the fiber glass resin.

That's another way I was thinking about. Yea, I was planning to sew it first and then just glue it in place. Thanks a lot for the response!

No problem. I know the frustration when your posts get ignored, or when the fandom is just too small for good advice.

These are kitchen gloves, but they are much thicker than your usual kitchen gloves. These are the gloves most commonly worn by RED Medic cosplayers, including myself.

Hey, I have a question. I am planning on making myself a Red Spy cosplay but I can't find any cheap suits that even look like his red suit. Do you think it would be easier to go to a thrift store, buy a suit that looks the most like it and then dye it the red or just find fabric that looks like it and attempt to make the suit myself? Thanks ^_^;

His suit is actually more of a pinkish brown color, and I know if you look on eBay you can find things that look similar, although they aren't on the cheap side price-wise. As for dyeing a suit, I suppose you could try it, but you probably wouldn't have very good results. Making it would probably be a better option, although making suits is tricky, especially since you will probably have trouble finding a pattern for a man's suit.

So, maybe not all that helpful, but my recommendation is to be patient and keep searching eBay or etsy. Good luck.

I don't need the cosplay until next June, so I'll keep browsing websites and goodwills until I try my hand at making it myself. XD I'll keep dying it as a last attempt if all else fails lol

I was Blu Medic for Acen earlier this year along with my friends who all made up a complete Blu Team. It was really awesome. I'm gonna try and find more pictures of us (group shot or not) to upload on here.

Well, after seeing Meet the Pyro, I sort of want to cosplay Pyro.

Only problem? MY MOTHER THREW AWAY THE GAS MASK I WAS GOING TO USE. She said it was too dirty because I literally picked it up from the side of the road and cleaned it really thoroughly, but she still threw it away. Now I have to find another one which is a bummer...

Also, I need to figure out how to make the rainblower. I'm also going to probably make the Lollichop which would actually be easy considering I am a decent foamsmith due to my Dagorhir experience and could probably make one that is actually safe to swing at people with (though I would never swing it at anyone without their permission)

Still, the rainblower will probably be the hardest part for me that I will need advice on.

I'm cosplaying the Engineer to AnimeFest in Dallas, and I'm completely stuck on the wrench. It seems like the easiest prop to make, but I haven't any idea what to make it from or where to begin. My main questions regarding this are as follows.

What materials would be practical and easy to get?
What materials would be easy to actually make the prop with?
What materials would be lightweight enough to feasibly carry, but durable enough not to break?

I need to know ASAP, so it'd be great if someone could get back to me with some suggestions or a tutorial.

I'd think craft foam would make something lightweight yet durable. I don't know of a tutorial specifically for a wrench, but here's one for a bonesaw that may give you some ideas:
