Granted, there's the big FF vs Nintendo photoshoot going on, but in addition to that; I'd love to try something new and take the whole VERSUS theme one step further... and your
involvement is highly welcome! Bring yourself, a friend, their friend, and hell - anyone you met that Saturday at MEGACON
to join up for the biggest... most amazing...
RED VERSUS BLUE
...photo opportunity to date at MegaCon!
Here's the details...
» Despite the title, this isn't just limited to the hilarious RoosterTeeth animated series, Red Vs Blue
, or even the recently released Team Fortress 2
's "Red vs Blu(e)" squads. These are most definitely encouraged as possible costumes! I know a bunch of people planning to go in Team Fortress 2
RvB gear, so the more, the merrier. Who knows, we might even get Chell
to bring us a slice of that infamous Aperture Science baked cake.
» In fact... it could be ANY costume, regardless of colouration or style. You could be dressed as Vincent Valentine of FFVII
or even Luigi of the Mario Bros
for all I care. Even if the character doesn't even bear RED
at all, you can be part of this...
» ...but if "anyone" can enter, who's side would the cosplayer be on? Would Mario
obviously be on Red and someone like Marth
be on Blue by default? Well, that would be definitely encouraged! However, for those with a not so blatant colour scheme, you get the option of choosing what side would be appropriate!
» "Wait a minute... if I get to choose, how would sides be even?" Good question, easily answered... I don't 'expect' sides to be completely even. HOWEVER, if the participation numbers for this cosplayer get-together is good enough, we will appropriately even out the sides.
» "Okay, that's fine. But how will participants be marked for either side?" RED
ribbons/armband/badges. That way, if a non-participating person is cosplaying Knuckles
, they won't be mistaken for a participating cosplayer dressed as Vash the Stampede
. A sample photo of the RED
markers will be posted closer to the MegaCon event time. Yes, these badges are FREE
with proof of admission to MegaCon. Thus... No MegaCon badge/wristband, no RvB badge. We do want to support the convention afterall, since a lot of hard work has gone into hosting it each year - of which I personally thank them for.
» I mentioned the participation numbers a couple times, but if they turn out better than expected... I do have some surprises in store; ranging from a sponsored Hall Costume Contest with nice prizes for the winners to an actual RvB game. Stay tuned for that and definitely pass on the word.
» That's all the details for now... if you have any relevant questions, comments, or even suggestions; please feel free to comment here, PM, or email me (makiotwist at gmail dot com).
