Superhero Cosplay Selection

Well for the upcoming NYCC, I want to try my hand at a superhero cosplay for the first time. The only thing is I'm a pretty thin guy (I'm around 5 something and weigh at like 155) so my options are pretty limited.

Here's a small look at my body type:

(Gonna have to go off how thin my arms look)

So for a potential cosplay I was thinking of either:

Miles Morales

Black Spider

Roy Harper (Arsenal)

Any other potential suggestions would be a great help to me. Or even ways to help me bulk up a little more (or get my arms more toned).

Honestly I would think there's plenty of slimmer model heroes out there. You're on the right track with the various Spidermans. Quicksilver is likely to be big at cons this summer thanks to the latest Avengers movie (there's also the X-men movie or comic version), and since he's just a runner you'd look fine not being bulky. I feel most of the archer/ranger characters like Hawkeye or Green Arrow would also work, as they'd be believable as smaller guys.

You could also look at characters who are younger, like Teen Titans guys. Obviously not everyone will fit (Cyborg's a pretty beefy dude) but you might find more options with them or similar teams.

Yeah… on the DC side, there's pretty much most of the guys of Young Justice. And Nightwing's never portrayed as beefy, either.

You could also go Marvel Cosmic- Star Lord from the comics is Average-Joe-ish, as well as most of the lesser known male cast like Jack Flag and Adam Warlock. They do have some musle, but they're no Drax or Hulk.

Iron Man/Tony Stark's another option, too. And Robert Downey Jr is really short to boot.

Thanks for the replies guys.

I'm very much leaning towards Roy Harper/Arsenal for my next cosplay since I've always wanted to try him. Since I'm not big with super characters I'm gonna try to bulk up a little bit more to give myself some type of lean for it. I know that Roy is somewhat slim but he's still how a muscular build and I want to try to at least get close to it.
