I am planning on attending Otakon or some other Con next year and was planning on going as Shinji Ikari, Hanatarou Yamada and Akito Tenkawa. I was wondering what the best place to look for costumes was or the best places to shop for materials/patterns to make my own. Does anyone have any good suggestions for a n00b?

After toning up a bit [ Y-Y ] I plan on cosplaying Yuiko. With a little weightloss, like I said, I have a feelling I'd be a shoe in for her body type wise x3

Ladybug-ring:Wow. If you don't mind a height difference you could do a really good (and pretty) Kaname Kuran from Vampire Knight. He has long hair just like yours except a few inches shorter. But who's the girl version of Kaname? Yuki of course! I also think you'd make a good Seiren from Vampire Knight.

Eulia:I'm thinking Taiwan from Axis Powers Hetalia. Mulan from Mulan. Sorry those are kind of lame. I'll think of something better.

Saaucerlike: If you want to crossplay think you'd make a good Lestat. Something about your look evokes European royalty in my mind. I bet you'd make an astounding cosplay of the twin brother or sister D'eon de Beaumont(guy) or Lia D'eon(girl) from Chevalier D'eon. How about Noi Kasahara from Wallflower (Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge)

TJTantrum: Ooo, you guys have a very anime-friendly look going on already. I'd say Lolly for your friend and Menoly for you. They are Números from Bleach.

Arabbella: Tohru Honda from Fruits Basket. Kagome Higurashi from Inuyasha, Belladandy from Ah My Goddess.

LizardFighter: How about Kurogane from Tsubasa Resevoir Chronicle or Curio from Romeo and Juliet? Or better yet Manji from Blade of the Immortal?(pick this one, he's tawight)

Saaucerlike- Olivier Milla Armstrong of Full Metal Alchemist, that case you don't need a wig, but the costume. You look like the strong attitiude of her too. ^^
Arabbella- I wish I could hug you, lol! xD I can see you being Haruhi Suzumiya or Mikuru Asahina of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya! You got the cutest to be both, and also the outfits would be great, you're a chip off the block to do it! xD

hi I'm jess I'm getting ready for otakon. I need a character and this is also my first time attending a convention. I have plenty of time to make it since it's 7 months away and i need one that is at least some what popular but not too over done. I'd like to be recognized lol

I'm 5'3 and chubby, Hair isn't an issue( I have no problems coloring or styling)

Not opposed to crossplaying a "pretty" guy. Lol (I've always wanted to do Sunao from Sukishyo x3)
Not opposed one bit to a wig or contacts, but would prefer to stay more on the cheap side. (No $100 contacts)
Also, I'm definitely into Half-Furry kinds of cosplays like Spice and Wolf and such. Just the ears and tail though. No crazy body suits. XD
