@ Seven: Gorgeous photos and great location! If you are still thinking of a JK photoshoot outside of/after AX in the gerneral SoCal area (aka anywhere within a 2 hour or so radius of LA) I'd love to come!

@ Tatterpixie: Inoli's rubber band idea sounds good and much simpler, but if that doesn't work perhaps attaching support bars angling from the stem to the leave on either side of the stem would help? You might be able to cover them in similar fabric and snap/button/etc to the existing fabric so they'd be detachable.

@ Tenkage: Congrats on finishing the embroidery! Can't wait to see your secret cosplay!

The possibility of a JK gathering at AX is making me wonder if I could sneak over there just for the gathering! And maybe Sakura Con next year too? *Sigh * this poor Kirin is trying to stop adding new Cons, but a JK gathering just might tip the scales >_<

Also I finally have some progress to show! My mane is growing in nicely, and shall finally be of a proper length at Fanime! Now I just need order the last of the bracelet parts

Update: So I will not be able to finish Yoko in time for Fanime. A series of very unfortunate events has just been holding me back from finishing her. So my goal is now to just have her completed by July. I am kind of bummed, but it's out of my control at this point. I don't think I can pull it together before the con. That being said, I hope to be at Fanime next year with Yoko! I am still going to try and come by to see you guys in your awesome costumes though!!!

My cat Kiyo decided he was going to be a drama queen while I was doing progress shots of En's sword. oak is a pain to work with btw.
and here's the wire work on the hilt, might add some shadow painting to give it more depth. eh it's a monster of an interpretation on two handles that actually were somewhat the same ^^;;; eh I'm pretty pleased with it.

Aww, sad that you won't have Youko, but hope to see you anyway -- come by Monday and visit!

All the progress posted is looking so very shiny. *_* It makes me so inordinately happy to see this series getting more love. (Not much here -- just retouching Risai's sword hilt where peacebonding scarred it. Hoping the weather cooperates and I can actually get a proper topcoat on it this time ... unlike the first round. >_> )

@ Kimu: I will be looking for you guys! I am excited to see all of your costumes. Sorry to hear AX isn't in the cards for you. I am still kind of bummed I can't go, but with all that's happening, maybe it's for the best.

@ Inoli: What a cute cat!!! And a super awesome sword! That wire work is amazing!!! And as for Yoko, yeah I agree. It's still a bit of a bummer, but more time to work on it means I can really make it the best it can be.

@ myalchod: I agree! The progress pictures are so inspiring. It makes me wish I could go home and get to work right now. I'll do my best to stop by on Monday!! And I hear you on the peacebonding issues. I had one person put the zip tie on so tightly I had to force a pair of scissors under it, scrapping the paint/clay, just to get it off. I hope your fixes go well!

Fanime has ended! I got back today, and I gotta say, our JK cosplay has to be the most amazing one ever! It was made with all sorts of awesome!! And, now that it is over, I can finally reveal the surprise to everyone here on the forums. I won't be doing any major uploading until all the pictures from the con come back, but for now, I present to you;

Checking into the thread for the first time.

I'm planning on doing a Rakushun (rat form) costume for a 12k group with Seifer-Sama at Sakura-con next year. I have a friend who will be doing King of En. I'll be starting it after I get Pen Pen done from Evangelion.

Sad new though, I was more or less given the equivalent of "if you leave over Memorial weekend again... we'll kill you." From work. So It'll have to be time to seek out a secondary con >.O; tight leash is tight.
