@Jounink: Sweet =D If you see a Marluxia running around Saturday or Hyouki on Sunday come say hi. ^_^

@FeyMeggan: Really? Wow that's not too bad at all. Maybe you could rig the hind legs using some kind of invisible thread/wire attaching them to the frong legs. So the back legs move kind of like a puppet does.

And if I can afford it I will definatly go! =P (Hopefully I can...since I have plans to attend PCC and AX next year >.>)

Yeah, tried the invisible thread, I think her back paws are too heavy for even the 30lb test I was using, it stretched out the first day of AX this year and never really worked. I think I'll have to move onto a thin metal thread, one that I know won't stretch out or deform. I'll also have to rethink the pivot points...and well...other things. We'll see, right now she needs loooooots of tlc, hence why I threw together a sage outfit also for NDK so I had something else to wear when escorting wee Taiki around

*waves* I am finally getting pics of Kyou-ou up from NDK. Thanks to everyone who took pics of me....since she wasn't quite done for AX, NDK was actually her debut....and I look forward to wearing her again.

Hello *waves*, I've wandered over from the JK/12k 2009 thread. I've thoroughly enjoyed looking at everyone's pictures from the gatherings this year. Wonderful stuff and impressive shirei cosplay!

Because I failed miserably at getting Renrin done in time for either Fanime or AX last year, getting her finished is the main priority this coming year and I've started recruiting :3 So far I've signed up a Yoko (which outfit is TBD) and a sage Teiei for Fanime and the Teiei will most likely come to AX as well.

@FeyMeggan: Have you researched puppetry techniques? I was just thinking that books on puppetry might have some good sugestions on materials for invisible wires.

Will there be any other 12 Kingdoms cosplayers at Otakon this year? I didn't finish Sai-ou in time last year but am finally on-track for 2010!

She's not on Coscom, but a friend who does Rakshun (and debuted him at Fanime this year) just moved back east -- I think she's doing Otakon, but would have to check with her to be sure. Know she was talking some others into doing the series too, though I can't recall as what (or if they were going for this year). I'll let you know when I hear from her for sure? Expect she'd be thrilled to see another JK cosplayer!

(As for me, alas, Otakon is too far and too expensive to be viable. Pity, I'd love to see your finished work!)

*waves!* Hi! I'm Myalchod's friend, the one who is doing Rakushun in his rat form (you can see the head of the cosplay in my icon). ^_^ I'm DEFINITELY going to be at Otakon, and I will have a Youka in tow, and maaaaaybe a Kourin if we can get in touch with her. I'm so excited to find other JK cosplayers on the East Coast -- I had so much fun at the gather at Fanime, and I'm hoping we can round up more on this side of the country!

Your Rakushun looks fabulous! It would be great to meet up with some other JK cosplayers at Otakon. I expect to be entering Saiou in the Friday Hall Costume Contest (and possibly walking in the fashion show portion of the Masquerade Saturday night), so I will definitely be around in the costume throughout the day on Friday.

@Tatterpixie OMG you were so ADORABLE! I got cell pics spammed to me and even on a tiiiiney screen it looks FABULOUS! was really sad that for one I was unable to skip out on my duties to have some fun D=

@MeahtSingan I have a feeling we're going to have to travel to the east coast some time with our JK group just to terrorize you. Otherwise if you think about an east coast con- expensive I know- but it seams Sakura Con seams to gather the most people <3

hmmm... my.... formal robes *stares at the 10 some yards of duponi silk and gold lines that need to be hand embroidered* uh right.... about that.... so I was thinking with my hair so long I might try to get Naotaka Komatsu don. Full armor! I'd be going for Historical accuracy while taking colors from mostly anime and any other references I can find. my hair atm is long enough for me to do him without a wig[the only real reason I'm keeping my hair so frustratingly long!]

OH. MY. GOD. Your Rakushun costume looks AMAZING so far! I would DIE to see it in person. He's one of my favorite characters of all time. Please, please, please post more pictures soon! *squeezes you* XD

As for my own cosplay, I'd love to do Shoukei sometime in the future, but I've got some other cosplay plans going right now. It's no fun without a group though.
