Painting rubber rain boots

Hi everyone. How would you guys/gals recoommend painting a pair of rubber rain boots?

I have a costume for Zack from DOA2 in which he has silver boots. I got a pair of rubber rain boots from REI and I was wondering what type of paint would be best so that it's still flexable and doesn't flake off too quickly. Would liquid latex be a good option?

Btw, the character looks like this

Thanks in advance for any help or advice you have. :)

Eh never mind guys and gals. A friend of mine is showing me how to do boot covers instead. I think it's gonna match the rest of the costume much better then paint.
