Colormax and Ambition are the same lenses, produced by Marietta Vision... I heard that Watercolor is just another rename along with "Daring," but I'm not 100% for that one.

Those seem to be the cheapest these, cosplaylab.com's are only $36/pair w/o a Rx, and $46/pair with it.

Anybody know how often they should be replaced?

And it's illegal to sell contacts in the US without a Prescription so you'll have to go with the 46

Cosplaylab sells Plano lenses (have no prescribed power) for $36. The prescription ones are $46 with corrective power. Those should be the only ones you need a prescription for.

No no, you need a prescription to buy even plano lenses. It's only $36 because there's no power on them. The powered lenses are more expensive because more goes into making them.

Cosplaylabs site is the only one I've seen that will not let you buy contacts with out a perscription. Basically it says that you went through the whole fitting (trying them on) and know how to take care of them so no infections occour. You have to do it even if you only want plano lenses.

There's a site called Exotic Lenses that sells them without a perscription and they are in the US. They travel to most cons as well to sell in the dealers room. Also they're theatrical lenses are alot cheaper compared to the ones through cosplaylab.

p.s. Sorry for bringing this post up from the dead.

*party-pooper* Also, they'll get shut down by the FDA if enough people report them for this illegal behavior

If people want these contacts so bad then why would they report them? And besides, that 'law' has been in effect for a few years and they still sell them at cons. If the law holds true then they wouldn't even let them deal them in the dealers room.

It may be more of a guideline than a law.

Alright, so I saw them at a con once, but here's the thing: I live in Canada. Does anyone know if it's illegal in Canada? More specifically, in Ontario?

You don't need a prescription to buy contacts if you're in Canada, ^_^ *has bought contacts at FanExpo* As far as I know, we have no laws against it.

Make sure you know what you're doing though! It's a good idea to ask someone what you'll need to store your contacts in, how to use them, etc.
