oooo, glad I found my way in here. ^_^

Over the summer I'm hoping to make Kadaj's costume...I fell in love with it when I first saw the movie. His leather jacket is so cool...and I'm totally excited about getting the silver wig.

When I get started I'll put progress pictures up.

You should =O. Cait Sith isn't that great of a party member, but he's still freakin' adorable. Plus I think he's the least cosplayed from the VII cast, mainly b/c of that reason ;;. I really want to see your costume tho; it's not in your gallery!

Quick question. Out of all the AC Clouds that show up at a typical convention, what percentage of them are good? "Good" here means "looks like Cloud, and not like a last-minute jerry-rigging". I like the character, and the series, but I hate the thought of walking around with dozens of myself. Paradoxical to an insane degree. Plus, if I did a skit, the first reaction would be "OMG not another Final Fantasy skit," and that isn't what I want at all. I know, I know, I can't pick a fracking costume. I just need to find one that screams at me, is all. AC Cloud is yelling fairly loud at the moment...

Cloud is a very popular character. My advice is to find whatever costume calls you. Do what you want and don't worry about what other people think about your costume, your skit, or even 'other Cloud' competition. Show your fandom =)

I honestly don't ever have a problem seeing another Cloud costume. It's good to compare and contrast what techniques the other person has used in crafting their costume. Asking about sewing techniques, materials, patterns, and props are great forms of cosplay icebreakers for cons. =)

Cloud is one of my favorite characters, and if you like a character that much, like Ikariya said, just go with it and cosplay! People will always have their opinions on things, good or bad, so the best thing that you can do is just do it anyway and have fun !

If you're very particular with what kind of Cloud cosplay you want to do, you can always try the more uncommon versions. (ie - Wall Market, Amano, etc) That basically can go with every character lol, not just Cloud, but if you want to do AC Cloud, do AC Cloud =O. I personally can't get enough of his outfit in that movie XD

ya I would say the same thing. Its really not that big of a deal if you see someone else. Really it just gives you more things in common since you both like the character. But I would go with your gut and don't worry about what others say. I know it never bothered me when I saw other clouds.

I've been looking to cosplay Crisis Core Aerith, but can't find her full body CG in a format any larger than about 4 inches tall. Has anybody gotten their hands on this or some other hi-res shots of her?

I have an old CG scan of her from a magazine! The quality of it isn't very great in my opinion, but it's the best I could find at the moment. xD I know there's an official artwork of her somewhere too...

Thought I might add my little 2c here;

I'm about to do a Cloud cosplay, and I want to go the whole hog with it, and that includes making the sheaths for his swords. I've noticed lots of people don't do them, either maybe they're difficult to make, or because there aren't good pictures of them.
I've just bought myself a Masterpiece Arts Cloud, (FF fanatic) and I'm obviously using it as a reference to make my costume, but if anyone needs any pictures of anything specific taking, shout it out.

Anywho, here's a quick Sheath shot for anyone interested;

oh my gosh, I love his sheath. Cloud is totally my favorite...

I agree with everyone else here. Don't worry what other people will think about your costume. As long as you're pleased with it and as long as you really want to do it, go for it.

I've seen a few people that've done the sheath, but you bring a good point Ranger ^_^;;. Every sword needs a sheath =O gosh lol! I think a lot of people haven't done the AC Cloud sheath b/c of the details that go into it; I know for a fact that if I tried, it would look really really bad ^_^;;. Plus there's that accuracy factor because of the fact that since AC was a full-on CG movie, you KNOW that it's clearly leather, and sewing leather is a pain ._. I just know lol.

I'm excited to see the sheath progress though! I want a figure of Cloud...lovely pic btw

Ranger: Great backshot! That weave of leather is hard to catch in the movie correctly!

Most of the problems with the sheathe is the weight involved. Notice that it is only attached to the straps that hold the apron and pauldron on his body. They aren't positioned correctly to take the weight like in the movie. My solution was to take a piece of sturdy plastic and make a belt loop with support that tucks into my belt where the sheathe covers it. This also makes it so that it won't flap all around and catch on things. However, many many people bumped into my sheathe at cons so it broke faster than anything I have ever made.

Welll this is off topic with Cloud, but I finally continued more of my Amano Aeris . I managed to take pics of my necklace as well, and whatever beadwork I did today. This is the first time I did it ._. so it if looks bad I'm really sorry ;; but I like how it came out, especially for first time. It was really a pain to do, but I was set with an episode of MythBusters and I was good to go . I should stop living in Discovery Channel....

Hi there ^^,

My first choice of fabric on Aeriths jacket would be red denim. However finding denim in assorted colors is hard to find. It took me a long time to even find olive green denim for the skirt on my Silent Hill 3/denim costume.

A lot of times pros reccomend you shopping for fabric in person (to actually get a feel for the texture), but should you not have such luck with finding red denim (because like I said, different colored denims are very hard to find), I would suggest to try finding it online.

I also got lucky with finding green denim because I live in Southern California where I can get to the L.A. Fashion District anytime I want (where they sell different fabrics), without the dilema of online shopping...

Nonetheless, I hope this helps some ^^.
