Any good tutorials for attaching extensions to a wig? Or making wefts? I've been all over the place in search and all I've found are confusing ones.

making wefts, again, is a Katie Bair tutorial.

from there you just sew them in where you need to, using a curved needle and thread the color of the wig you're styling.

That would be this thread:
http://forums.cosplay.com/showthread.php?t=113387
Feel free to revive it and post any questions concerning wefting & wig-making in there. It already contains a bunch of tutorials on different methods to make wefts.

In answer to your first question:

In answer to the second question, I suppose you could try, but it might not work very well. Wig dyeing works best when the base wig is either white, light blonde or a lighter variant of the color you are to trying to achieve.

Is the ponytail tutorial by Katie the ONLY way to make perfect ponytails?

Unless you're using a pre-pigtailed wig, yes it is (AFAIK.) You might try and sew two (or more) vertical wefts to the back part instead and blow dry them in place, but I haven't tried this yet. The parting for pigtails method gives you a very clean and full (no-see-through) back part if you practice a bit and have a lot of patience^^

Well, hiya... i think it'll be ok, to ask my question here, instead open a new thread @_@

so, i cosplay as Ashura, from CLAMP RG Veda, and his/her/it's hair is tied in a ponytail at the very top of his (well, let's choose a gender for now :3) head.
i got myself a 4' feet black wig, but i couldn't acchieve the results i wanted, so, the ponytail tutorial at the first page doesn't help'd so much >w>
does anyone has another suggestion?
i'm wondering about, "separate" the hair more or less under my neck, and turn this in a hair extension, but i'm afraid it'll get too heavy...

here's what's i want to do:
http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t...ra/Ashura2.jpg

here's what i could do (i decided to do something i was comfortable doing, instead ruin the whole wig):

thaanks :3

This is one of those "Long haired character =/= long wig" situations. That type of hair is not possible with a long wig. What you do is get a shoulder length wig such as Angela 750 or Linda and put it up in a ponytail, then stub the sucker. You then use extensions, made into uber long wefts and sew them around the stub. You may even want to put a small styrofoam ball onto the stub to add volume to the ponytail.
