There is an enormous difference..Like super different..Unless it's a human hair wig.
The reason is, that normal non human hair wigs are plastic. They are also MUCH thicker than real hair..Cutting them across is not only extremely difficult and annoying to get straight, but it looks like you just have a giant chink missing. When you do it straight up and down or slightly angled, it cuts less at a time, making it not look like one giant chunk.
