Agreed to it being important to try different products! I had - okay, so I still have - an obsession with 100% natural skin products, mostly because my spa-working dad (yes, I know it's weird) scares me to death with all his SLS and Paraben-talk every time I use something manufactured.

BUT, I got this Lancôme Aqua Fusion pack from a friend and she'd spent so much money on it I'd feel guilty if I didn't try it, and guess what? It's REALLY good! It's probably the best moisturizer I ever tried - including yoghurt! X'D
No, seriously... the gel-cream version of it just melts into your skin and keeps it evenly moisturized for 24h without clogging your pores or feeling heavy. I have combination skin and find creamy moisturizers becoming sticky and shiny after a while, but without any kind of moisturizer it easily dries out. So, I really want to reccomend Aqua Fusion to everyone with the same skin type as me
(I also heard it's supposed to be very good as a base for make-up, but I have yet to try that out myself.)

Has anybody tried tinted moisterizers? I have heard they are useful as a sort of 2-in-1 foundation and moisterizer, but I don't know any brands that I should try. I also don't know how the tint will go with my skin tone.

Thanks for all the great tips guys! Keep em coming, this thread is helping me emmensely! I think I'll pick up a gel moisturizer, it sounds like just what I need! :3

chisainekocat: I tried one, it has the moisturizer and foundation in different halves of the bottle and then mixes then when you squirt it out. I found that it wasn't enough moisturizer for me. I have combination skin so parts of my face looked fine, but the dryer parts of my face looked as if I hadn't used any moisturizer at all.

I'd recommend giving it a shot though, because the added moisturizer let the foundation go on very smoothly and rubs in nicely.

Instead of using something that has moisturizer and foundation in two parts, try using them seperately so you can add extra moisturization to those especially dry places. My face is the same way. :/

I have dry skin in patches now, were I had acne the day or two before >.< and it's such a pain. So I find myself moisterizing like crazy. But it doesn't seem to be doing to much. Ah well just keep fighting it I guess.

I heard tinted moizerizers were bad at one point. I don't know if it is true though.

Thanks for the replies! I currently use moisturizer and some powder foundation every day and it's alright for me, but I read raving reviews about tinted moisturizers so I wanted to get some more opinions.

As for my own advice, I've been using Physician's Formula water-based concealer for awhile to hide small acne scars and such. I really like it and prefer it over my standard wax-based concealer stick because it's not cakey and the brush allows me to get every angle. It's also easier to blend the edges of the spots into my skin so it doesn't look like I obviously tried to cover up something. It feels like it's just foundation stuck in a pen, but hey, it's handy!

I love physicians too. But I am currently out of their cover up so I had to opt for another water based one, by like Maybaline or something. Not as nice but works for now.

Do you exfoliate? Exfoliating about once a week helps get rid of the dead skin cells and makes your skin feel nice and soft. It might help with those patchy dry spots.

Wow, I sound like a commercial. XD

Not really. An exfoliant is something that removes dead skin cells, either by scrubbing (microdermabrasion) or a weak acid (peels).

Exfoliating is really, really easy. If you're not up to shelling out for serious face stuff or kits or anything, there are scrubby pads for your face that work almost as well.

Check out Clean & Clear and Buff Puff. They sell Buff Puffs that have the acne medicine in them that foams when you get them wet, so it's an exfoliating pad with the cleanser built in. Mask is considered purifying. Do it after you've washed and before you've moisturized. Depending on what type it is, it does different things, but the general usage is for cleaning the gunk out of pores.

http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...GL._AA280_.jpg This is what I use to exfoliate. You can find it pretty much anywhere (drug stores, grocery stores, Wal Mart) and it only costs around $5. It also comes in smaller tubes, if you don't want to invest in a big tub of it.
