patent leather + adhesive=?

Hey! I am attaching fabric to my patent leather boots, and I was wondering if hot glue gunning it is the best way to go? Is there a better adhesive?
Will glue work the same on patent leather as other materials?

I would rather get opinions on this before I accidentally ruin my boots XD

If you're not wanting to use the shoes besides for this cosplay, then I'd suggest using just a little bit of sandpaper to rough up the surface of the PL that you're gluing something to. And if you want a nice permanent bond, check out a shoe repair glue called "Shoe Goo". It's great stuff ^___^

I wouldn't use hot glue (unless you rough it up first) because it'll peel off pretty easily. That being said you might want to use hot glue if you want to disassemble the boots in the future.

Future Costumes
Carmilla - Vampire Hunter D
Haydee - Gankutsuou: The Count of Monte Cristo
Barioth Blademaster - Monster Hunter
Lulu- FFX
Gwendolyn - Odin Sphere

alright cool. Yeah, I thought hot glue wouldn't work that well on such a slick surface. These boots are being solely used for cosplay, so I think I'll go with the shoe glue.
Thanks so much for the quick replies
