Being Pale....lol

so anywayz, here is my predicament, dont know if there have been any threads on this before...Im planning on cosplaying Suigintou from Rozen Maiden this up coming AX. Im already pretty much pale pink, lol but when I try to even out my skin tone with lighter make up, I look very pasty and chalky, lol. Is there any techniques to getting a pale white tone without looking wierd?

pics for reference....

well you wouldnt want to do an all-over "cakey" type makeup. you could get some white powder makeup (ive seen it at hot topic and whatnot) and just use it on the highlights of your face, like your cheekbones.

I would just wear some foundation and powders that are lighter than your current skin tone. Get the lightest you can find, but not necessarily white. The gothic ones they sell at Hot Topic won't help because they don't really stick or show up without help from a white foundation, which will make it too white and pasty.

So, again, get some lighter foundation and powder. That should lighten you up. Just don't go overboard; you don't need to.

If you order a mineral foundation powder from fyrinnae.com, you can get the lightest shade plus a lightener kit to adjust the color. Instead of using a tiny scoop, put in a lot more. It comes out very natural looking and not shiny.

I've been in the same predicament before, my own complexion being very pale with pink undertones. To make myself look a shade more naturally pale, I use Ben Nye, (good quality theatre make-up) Ultra Fair as a foundation and then blend Ben Nye Highlight onto my cheekbones, forehead, chin etc, (where light would naturally fall). And set with poder. The effect is extremely natural.

I order most of my makeup from there and its very versatile and never irritates my skin. Usually I can go most of the day without a touch-up.

edit: the first four pictures is me with all their makeup on http://images.cosplay.com/gallery.ph...7&member=47654

If you don't feel like ordering makeup, or hunting it down in the malls, I honestly would suggest finding a tanning place, and just get a spray on tan in a shade lighter, but close too, your own.

Hello! I want to cosplay as Banette and I plan to paint my face and neck entirely black except for the red circles on my face. I've did a bit of light research and most of them say to use Ben Nye and then a sealing spray. I want to glue yellow zippers on to my lips as well. Is this all too much for a first time cosplayer?
