shiro loli
I managed to get the White OP from Meta the Winter 2008 Lucky Pack, but I've never done shiro loli before(I'm all about gosurori, kurorori and classical). I love the dress, but have no idea how I can coordinate it without looking like a fluffy white ball.

have you taken a look at your avatar?
that’s a good way to coordinate it if you don’t wanna do shiro loli... its kinda hard teaching someone to coordinate but basically, you want to make sure that the outfit in balanced. whatever color you add to the outfit you kinda want to balance it out through out the whole outfit. you can add whatever color you want, as long you balance it out. since you’re into more gothic styles adding black to your outfit would only seem logical i guess. so get some black socks, a black purse maybe a black hair bow, and black shoes too, or you can do a white hair bow and white shoes...whatever you want really. you can coordinate it with whatever color you want red, pink, blue anything. as long as you balance it out throughout the whole outfit. |

Shiro loli is very hard to pull off. I agree with Le why not try the look that's in you avatar.

I agree with the two that posted above me.
For a tea party, I dressed up as a shiro loli. I felt like a marshmallow since I did it in -ALL- white. If you throw in some other colors to contrast it, you'd probably won't have the same problem. x.x [Marshmallow dress in gallery. XD]

the OP doesn't look like the pic in my avatar><
Looking like a marshmallow is what I'm trying to avoid. If I were wore this dress(and right now, it's looking like I might just sell this), I'd probably trying for an all white coordination. Thank you for your advice. |

Well if you're really set on doing shiro-lolita, my best advice is not to wear a blouse under the one-piece (if it is the one I'm thinking of, you can get away with it), and then to wear knee socks instead of tights, that way the white will be broken up a little by the little bit of skin between the end of the dress and the socks.

we realize that your OP is not the same one as the one the girl is wearing in your avatar. but the same coordination would still work. (i.e black hat, black purse Black shoes) and why would you go for an all white coordination if thats what you dont wanna do? the dress doesnt have to have a certain color in order for you to wear that color in your outfit. you can just add it and balance it out through out the rest of the outfit... i did a quick search and found this
just to give you an idea of what I’m trying to say. the pink she’s wearing on the outfit can easily be switched off to another color (personally i would go for red. cos at the moment I’m rather obsessed with incorporating that color into my outfits) you can just add whatever color to the outfit and balance it out. it doesn’t have to already be there ya know? |

Shiro lolita is hard i have a few outfits..one or two are all white 1 white and black and one that is a white skirt with a corset type thing that has a lovely small flower print with small amounts of green and purple...very nice.....but anyways the first is right it is all about the balance of the outfit ^^

http://community.livejournal.com/egl/9476546.html The original question is confusing me slightly; it seems like you don't really want a shiro loli look. Just because the dress/JSK you have is a solid color doesn't mean you have to choose matchy colors to put together a outfit. It's all about accessories, really. |
