Have the masses ever met?

Has there ever been something done where we could meet up, probably 2 weeks before the con starts or something like that, and help each other on making cosplays or critiquing? If not perhaps we could do that sometime. Heck, I think that would be fun! Meeting everyone and gaining new info or helping others in things that you know far to well.

Just an idea that popped up. Probably cause Katsucon is around the corner!

lol probably more than two weeks before the con, thats cram time for costumes since a lot wait till then to get their own stuff done and dont always have time to meet up and help/work with others. but it is a good idea

Okay...scratch 2 weeks...perhaps 3 weeks...or is this the 3 week marker?....

Eheh...I have to get a calender...any idea where we could meet. I was thinking perhaps a library or somewhere that would ACTUALLY be alright with this. I didn't think of someone's house cause you never know how many will show up and its a problem.

That actually sounds like fun If we had a time/date/place, I'd come.

We have a month left now.

One month eh...well...if we were to do this. We should first find a place to meet. Someplace with room, that's probably inside, and doesn't mind cosplay...

not sure where we could go though room wise *thinks* >< But everyone working and hanging out together sounds fun. Group Sewing XD

I know one thing we could all do when if we were to get together, go bowling! Me and my other cosplay friends do it everytime a friend comes from out of town

Bowling.... IN COSPLAY?

Hahaha. As much as I think it's inappropriate to wear cosplay outside of conventions and gatherings (though, I suppose this is technically a gathering), it might be fun.

If it weren't so cold, I think a picnic would be lovely.

My vote, however, is for a gathering someplace warm and fairly quiet, so that we can chat and get to know each other, as opposed to the noise of a bowling alley, and the cold of the outdoors. Perhaps a library? I know the Tabb/Yorktown one has some "conference rooms," and I'm sure we would be able to use one, as long as we schedule ahead of time.

You kow the meeting would be fun. But in a library? what would we do there besides quietly talk? Im sure some of the shyer people would feel embarrased. So a place like an bowling ally of skating would be better. If we go on a quieter day.

You don't have to be quiet in the conference rooms.

The thing about bowling and skating- bowling is VERY loud (the atmosphere), and you won't really get to talk a lot with skating. Also, we might want to look for something free to do. Some people have not want to spend extra money right before a con.

IS there any place we could all hang out for free, have fun, and not freeze?

I say the library. Tons of libraries like you said have anime clubs. The Princes Anne library has one and they would probably let us in. If you all think that would be alright, I can probably ask them.

Where is that?

Also, when? And is this a in-cosplay event?

How does the Hampton/Newport News area sound to people? It's kind of in the middle, right?
