Were there any costume awards besides the Masquerade?

I was just browsing in the programming book, and I found (by my assuming) that there were no costuming awards besides the Masquerade. If that's true, why do people wear their costumes on other days?

Um, cuz most peeps don't care about competition. Personally, I don't see the point of being at a con without a cosplay on, unless I'm sleeping...and even then, sometimes I fall asleep wearing one.
Anyway, people gather in groups, show their allegiance to particular series and take photos. I don't know...why does cosplay exist? What's so compelling? Why do I keep making complicated, huge and unfortunately hot costumes and swap up to three times a day? I think it's better not to question it, really.

...Altho: it was incredibly odd that there was no hallway judging it seems at ACen this year. It was not mentioned in the programming and no one on staff knew anything about it. The first time I was considering doing that ever, and ACen either didn't have one at all or did not advertise it well if they did.

Why cosplay outside of the Masquerade contest? Because . . .

Cosplaying is fun.

That is all ye know on Earth, and all ye need to know.

(well, not exactly, but quoting poetry is fun).

cosplay, is jus another form of fandom...besides i think its fun to dress up as a char(S) for a weekend. for some its to show of their workmanship on wha they spend weeks...maybe months on. some cons have hall costume contests. but cosplay is short for costume-play.

Why do people roam the halways in costumes. Because it's fun, who cares if there is no reward. It's just the satisfaction of saying hey I did this, and I have the guts to wear it around, or say hey I support this anime.

A convention wouldn't be a convention if everyone just wore costumes for rewards. I think more repeat cos or cross players go for the satisfaction of it.

I don't like to compete; it just had me curious for me to think about it! I really does bother me that people think that! ...but you guys didn't know, so I have no one to be mad at. I only like to compete for the fun of it, not competition (unless if it was against my enemies ^^; ).
