Ash from evil dead

I just got a hold of a broken chainsaw and i'm going to remove the motor and chain part and customize it so it will fit on my hand.
I also am making a fake "boomstick" soon, the same goes for the gun holster. my question is, would I get in trouble if I went to a convention in this costume?

most cons realize that costumes need accessoreis to look right and agree that if you leave weapons holstered your ok. if the con has a site you might check their rules on weapons. the chainsaw is kind of out there tho. if the edges are dull and you dont go swinging it around too much you will probably be ok. i would bag the chainsaw (duffle bag) and just put it on when you are ready to be complete.
