AnimeFest?
Can anybody tell me anything about AnimeFest in Dallas? I've agreed to go there in the process of visiting a friend, but it's WAY out of the way for me, and I haven't been able to turn up much in the way of prior con reports. Anybody been and can tell me a little bit about what to expect?

O_O This is a week late and this con is this week but -- animefest.org is the site. I'm going. ^^; It's supposed to be really good, 'cause it's totally fan run and a great atmosphere. *shrugs* I'm going at the request of someone special to me. :P

Yeah, me too. It takes a lot to get me on a plane to Texas. :P Thanks for the reply - I've seen the site, but was hoping to hear from folks who are going/have gone in the past. I'm looking forward to it anyway, since I don't get to many cons.

Agh, *nobody* on this board has been to Animefest??? ^^
I'm going on Saturday... but I've never been before. I've heard good things about it, but I guess that isn't really helpful. |

Well, it's *nice* and all. And at least I know I won't be the only one there!
 Since I'm trying to travel light I don't know if I'll have more than one day's worth of costumes, but I should be able to pull off Toshiya on Saturday.. very sleepy and possibly slightly jet-lagged, but Toshiya nonetheless. |

I went last year, and was gonna go this year buuuut I just didn't have time and didn't feel like flying in :B I may get to it next year though

Yeah, as I get older I almost always find that the amount of enjoyment I get out of a con has a lot to do with who I'm hanging out with. Luckily for AF I was visiting a good friend and we had a great time, but next year I think I'm going to hit mostly larger cons and see if that helps any.
