You could also use sharpie color markers to color the fur. Thats how my sister made her fur tassles here:http://www.cosplay.com/photo/2553662/.

Where to buy - Faux Fur

Ok, so i know there are threads and other stuff about this.
But the links i found were no good.

I'm planning to cosplay Lambo ( 20 years later ) From Katekyo Hitman reborn.
I already have black jeans, a white shirt. Thats no problem
And today i went ahead with a friend of mine who helped me pick the fabric for the coat.
However one of the important things for the coat is the fur on Lambos coat --> http://static3.animepaper.net/upload...ES__161859.jpg

http://static2.animepaper.net/upload...ES__205860.jpg

And i have no idea where to buy any faux fur : /

Applying Dye To White Fur Items

Okay I have to make this quick so sorry if it seems breif ^^;;

Basically I want to cosplay as Yoru from shugo chara, he has big, dark blue furry paws and hands of which I will probably use gloves and maybe fluffy boots/slippers kinda thing if I can find them. However, most of the colours of which fur items such as tails, ears, gloves and paws and so on (The ones I need) are normally Black, White, Grey or brown - No dark blue.

What I'm asking is; is there a way to carefully dye white fur a dark blue colour? Is it safe? Will it work? What dye and techniques should I use and so on.

Thanks in advance ^__^

I don't know what kind of fabric fur is made of but as long as it isn't polyester you'll have no problem dyeing it.
You can use dyes such as Tintex and Dylon which you can easily find at departments stores like walmart or I dunno. Instructions are simple and easy to understand, just follow them throughly and youe fabric should be safe.

Actually, fun fur IS polyester, or some other plastic equivalent. It IS dyeable though, you can pretty much dye it the same way you would with a wig.

Usually fake fur is made from acrylic. Which is why acrylic paint works so well And acrylic ink works even better

Quite often when I use fake fur in an historic garment I'll joke that it is the pelt of the Acryl, a feared beast with a hide 60" wide and indefinitely long.

Or purest teddy bear.

Hiccup cosplay! Where to find nice long pile fur?

I've been looking all over the net to find some fur to match Hiccup's vest and boots. Here's a pic of the character: http://stills.movieset.com/s/how-to-...el-560x420.jpg

I've gone to syfabrics and distinctivefabrics, but neither of them have the color I need. And those are the only sites I've found with nice looking long pile fur that isn't "fun fur". The ideal fur would be slightly wavy and distressed, but right now I'd just be happy with a red-brown fur. Help please!

This is my favorite place to buy fur. It's a little pricey, but I have some of their longer furs (the Punky Muppet in orange, I believe it was) and it doesn't shed, it's really nice and thick.

The Shag fur in Rust might work for you? They do swatches for free, also, so you could ask them for swatches to check.

My all time favorite fur place is distinctivefabric.com

They have monthly deal codes too which is great.

(Thanks for those site suggestions, guys. I think I found the right fur!)

But now I'm wondering what to do to get the worn look to the fur. (For a reference pic look at my above post). You can tell he's worn his vest A LOT, and I want to try and duplicate that look. Should I just run it through the wash a couple times?

When you dye fur by use of acrylic paint, will it last? As in, hopefully it won't rub off?

Because that sounds like a pretty good method for what I'm looking for.

Hi, I could use some advice on fur accessories.
I'd like to cosplay as Mamizou Futatsuiwa
http://en.touhouwiki.net/images/1/17/Th13Mamizou.png

I've found guides on how to make the ears, but I don't understand how to attach them to a headband? I'm not going to be wearing a wig and hairclips never stay in place for me, I need a headband or something similar.

I also don't understand how to attach a tail. Most guides have loops for a belt, but that won't work as well with a skirt...I'm not sure what the best solution would be.
And about the tail, will the stripes on the raccoon tail make it much harder than a regular fox tail?

great place to buy fur

Sommers Plastics is one of the easiest sites to purchase faux fur. Their selection is terrific and quality is amazing. Though the prices are high compared to shag or low-end furs, their stuff is worth the money.
