For my next year's con I'm going as Leafeon, woo~.

But since it doesn't look very Leafeon-like (or to the point of it being reconizable) I'll be making ears and a tail and editing a few things.

I was wondering if anyone actually had any idea on how to make the ears and tail so that they look sort of leaf-like? Also, does anyone have any ideas of how to keep the ears on my head with that wig on?

@Dango!: I'm at work at the moment and it doesn't like DA so I'll take a look later tonight or tomorrow night from my lappy at home ! Leafeon is so pretty!! As of making the ears and tail more leaflike, I would try making them thinner as they get more leaflike, and cut in notches like in the ref .

I can't see your design unfortunately, but I would use a thin headband and attach the ears to them , or put the ears onto plain hairclips (they sell them at most craft stores) and clip them onto the wig carefully .

@REP: your Houndoom is so awesome!! You did a wonderful job with it ^__^! Houndoom is such a cool Pokemon =O.

@Kazu: LOL Shiroi XDDD he wouldn't do it tho rofls, he has enough cosplays to do I think XDD! That would be so much fun tho! Maybe I'll convince him :3...

For Leafeon's ears, you can do just that - make them from fake leaves from a craft store.
- Then you can either hot glue / or sew them into the wefting on the wig to keep them on. :]

I used thick leaves from a fake potted plant for my Leafeon. [Its not done, but I have the wig and ears.

XXDD I would not have thought of using fake leaves :3 I would say craft foam but I think fake leaves would be cute too

ok it's official I think wefting is a funny but it makes me feel sick using/seaing it >_<; thats strange. anyway!

I'm thinking of completely redesigning my Skitty again... i'm not liking how the one I posted came out ._. it makes me look frumpy since it's a tunic and all ;_; *back to the drawing board*

Anyone got any tips on how to do that outrageous hair? That swirl in the middle would probably be the biggest challenge for me.

@Dango!: I would try using a combo of hairspray and hair glue to get it to stand up as best as it can ^_^.

@Kazu: LOL LOL I got Shiroi to be Flareon rofls!!! Score! I myself am gonna aim for Espeon actually, tho I did want to do Umbreon. I like Espeon more tho, even tho I'd need to get a wig for it, but I've had pretty good luck finding great wigs for good prices online, so it's doable . I sketched out my design this morning but I won't have an actual one to show (in color nevertheless) until later tonight when I get home. I'm probably gonna have a long pinkish-lavender wig (not too long but past the shoulders) b/c it suits her more than short hair .

So excited rofls XD. I gotta see what fabrics I have on hand too, I could have sworn I had a good color for her but I gotta see. I can't think of anything for Dragonite's outfit so I'm putting that back on my list, and I'll try to make Espeon by Halloween this year just in case I'm still stuck XD.

Hi! Just starting on my Raichu gijinka, and I was hoping I could get some advice.

What would be the best way to craft his ears? Also the yellow part on his tail. I was planning on making a wire frame covered in black tubing for his tail, but I didn't know if there was a better way to do the yellow part other than sewing it...

I'm not sure how many people bother to scour the forums, but there has been a raichu gijinka tutorial posted somewhere. [not enough time to look for it right now]

The ears are made of craft foam. as far as the tail, aside from sewing, there are gluing, and other such silly methods, it all depends on if you want good looks or stability.

@Ametatsu: The ears could be made out of craft foam like Sakrai said. Or you could do the pillow-method [or whatever the pro. name for it is >>] where you make a pattern, cut our fabric, and stuff it with fluffy for volume. It'll look cute, but probably not as "accurate" as you'd like.

You could always make a wire frame for the tail and at the end, bend the wire into the lightening bold shape then cutting crafting foam pieces out and gluing it to the front and back of the wire. Or do that pillow-method again.

Hopefully that's some help and not all weird gibberish. D;

For the pants, how do I make and attach those buckles at the bottom of the pants legs? And how should I do those black lines on the pants, like to assure that they're straight.

For the leg warmers, how do I make it look all fluffy and poofed up like that?

For the belts on the leg warmers... how do I start?!

For the cuffs at the end of the green shirt, should I just cut off cuffs from another shirt and hope I can sew them onto the shirt? Or is there a trick to getting the cuffs on?

For the shirt, if I find a plain green shirt is there a way to make vertical stripes like that? OR! If I find another shirt with that vertical pattern but in another color, is it possible for me to dye it green and for it to look similar to the shirt in the picture?
