[quote=AnnbuxMzLazy;3048261@fairyknight- Nice dress and I like how you put the "wings" on the dress. And I'm sure its just me, but the tail seems a little funny being under the dress ._.[/QUOTE]

Yes it does xD I still have to think of some alternative way for making the tail, Maybe i'm going to get some wire to put in the tail so it gets curvy. Maybe I'm making the wig also the tail by putting on an elastic band really low and glue the blue fins to that...

But if anyone else has an idea, feel free to tell me xD

[Edit]
I saw the hair-tail idea before xD so here's a picture! but instead of the blue ball, I could put on those blue fins.

@fairyknight- oo the hair tail idea seems like it could work since lugia's tail is really simple.
How did the tail look on the outside of the dress?

@Magnavox: your Xatu is so pretty ^_^!! It does look comfy indeed :3.

Lol realized the other day I can't wear my Misdreavus dress anymore ;;. I measured wrong first off so it comes up too short (damnit you can even see my socks in those pics XD;;; ), and something with the right sleeve came out weird where my sis stitched it closed odd, so it actually is skinnier than the other "normal" sleeve (but it's so loose anyway that it didn't pose as a huge prob except for pics).

Poor dress needs to be retired :/;; lol. I can always use that fabric for something else tho XD.

Gonna see if I can put together Espeon's dress today tho . I might have a tiny progress shot, depending on how well it looks lol.

Here is my first Gijinka Psyduck:
http://www.cosplay.com/costume/226262/

I am also planning to make more gijinka the next up on my list is Megneton. I have already cut the wig, I just need a body suit (ebay yay!) and to make the magnets (easy peasy cardboard "U's".

The problem is I don't know how to get the magnets to "not droop" when I attach them...Suggestions?

@Javakat: your Psyduck is so cute ^_^! Psiaiai!

For the magnets, I would try pinning the ones on the head into the wig as securely as possible. If a hairclip can work that's even better; they sell blank hairclips at most craft stores and you can just glue the magnets onto them .

For the ones on the hips, if you can attach them from the inside and make them stick out it should get them to stay pretty well; otherwise just try and secure those as best as you can with pins, glue, etc. Also for the hip magnets, if you can put some sort of weight inside down in the center (like a little rock/large pebble/anything weighing less than a pound lol) it'll help weigh down the magnets while being light so they don't droop too much or flap around everywhere.

Of course other suggestions are welcome ^_^ that's just how I'd tackle the situation tho :3

@javakat For the magnets, you could try to craft them out of those big blocks of green/blue foam. After that, you can cover them with fabric, It takes a while to put the foam inside the fabric, but that'll work out fine! That's how I made the blue fins on the back of my Lugia dress.
You could also try using wire, but that's not so comfy to wear.

I can't wait to see your costume :P

Thanx guys! Wire is a good option...but I think I might just use...MAGNETS! I'm making the magnets out of these cardboard "U's" so they are already stiff

http://s56.photobucket.com/albums/g1...eyblade046.jpg

and then use magnets to keep them from flopping.

Hairclips are a great idea, but I might just use a headband...

Also I want your opinion on my idea for this costume.
I am feeling like there's something missing. So I am thinking about making a staff with a lugia-head on top of it xD I know it sounds a bit vague, but i'm going to make a sketch to show you what I mean.
*Is speechless*

Well, now I've just gotta figure out a way to plan this out for myself (male), and this should actually work out pretty well.

Yeah, I'm planning on going as a Lugia Gijinka for next year's Anime North, however, I'm planning on making the "white" "silver" to commemorate the release of HG/SS.

But, so far, those pictures have given me a great idea.

Have you ever seen Howl's Moving Castle? I noticed that Skitty has the same color scheme as Lettie's dress. The results? Lettie with Skitty ears and this hair---http://www.cosworx.com/product.php?productid=26257&cat=2446&page=1
At least the style. I want to go to the NY anime convention as that. I have the whole summer to construct the outfit. My grandma has a very expensive europian sewing machine.

GRAHHH.
I tried to make Pikachu's ears last night, and needless to say, I failed a lot trying to hand sew them. I'll be taking them to the machine sometime tonight or tomorrow night, and hopefully that'll work out way better than my first attempt...

~Yaay~ ^^
It's great to hear someone's getting inspired by my costume ^^ It's cool to make an silver lugia costume! I can't wait to see it ^^

@Javakat
OMG! those cardbord U thingies look like they're made for the magneton gijinka costume xD You just have to paint it over and attach them to your costume xD
For the magnets, You have to use strong ones in order to keep the cardboard attached. You could also use hot glue to stick them on, just in case.

Oh, By the way.
I made a sketch for how I want Lugia's staff to be. Any opinions on the staff?
It might be hard to see...
