Haha yeah that's one of the reasons why gijinkas are so hard, they're so subjective!
Thanks for your input though. I'll definitely lesson some of the red ^^

Hawkflight, her design is actually pretty close to the one you linked to in regards to the armor, only the arms are changed. I really like your design, Miasmatte! It's very recognizable as Skarmory. :]

Anyone have any ideas on how to construct the mouth? Link

OMG I was totally interested in a mawile cosplay too! I was going to make it out of paper mache, that's the best I could come up with. There's some good tutorials on paper mache clays, or just paper mache in general for large objects.

I'll do the colour I seem to interperate into an image... two seconds C:
I'll edit when I'm done. My photoshops a little slow :C

I might not be Butterfree due to my Monoko budget being a lot higher than I expected, and I wanted A LOT out of Butterfree (two dresses, tights, jumper, steampunk goggles, etc) :C.
I'm going to try a few more Pokemon designs and decide on that.
If only Pokemon > Yume Nikki.

I put the tan and the pink together as thats Sugimori Skitty's colours, but I see Skitty interperated into the yellow I put next to it more often.
I placed a dark grey with it to see how it'd look. If you can find anything in that tan or yellow, then yay!

I've made things with paper mache before and it is really heavy. lol I wouldn't be able to lug that around all day at a con. <<; I have a general idea on how to make the shape and stuff, but I can't decide how I want to do the outside; whether with a fabric cover or something else, I don't know. haha I'm just really indecisive.

oh, for mawhile you could always lighten it by making a mesh frame in the shape of it, and then paper mache on the outside, or you can use a more plush material, which would still be held by the mesh and still be very lightweight :]

Braithcakes- That's what I was gonna do; chicken wire as a base then wrap it with quilt batting, but I don't know what to do on top of that(I don't think paper mache would work well on top of batting. lol it's too porous.)

Well, I've officially started on Shaymin, it's just the wig so far, as I have everything else left to do. I like to have the wig out of the way first with all costumes so yeah... but I want to have him done by summer.

Pics & idea for construction -> http://www.cosplay.com/costume/281819/

if you don't want to use the chicken wire you cold probably use like the plastic frame mesh, it's what I used to make my friend reaper wings from the world ends with you.

uhhhhh.....I wouldn't use anything that's super hard, but nothing that'll break easily.

I'll stick with my suggestion of keeping it maybe a plush material or also maybe.....paperclay? or....some sort of mold? like model magic? D:

With the chicken wire then batting combo, you'd just had to add the fabric over top. o-O
Why would you want another layer? The batting will keep its support enough.

I wasn't sure if fabric as the top layer would look right, but now that I'm thinking about it more I actually have a textile in mind that wouldn't look too bad.

O hay. I've been working on my own Gijinka for a little bit (Luxray), and I wanted to ask everyone here a couple of things. First of all, where can I find some yellow contacts for Luxray's eyes. I've googled them and searched around, but have found nothing with people actually wearing the contacts, so I wanted to know if anyone can recommend someone.

SECOND. I have a Luxray tail sitting next to me here with a wire hanger acting as the support, and it looks terrible, can anyone recommend a better support for it?
