Cosplay Help: Young Yoruichi (Bleach)

I'm planning my very first cosplay and I need a bit of advice. I wanted to go as someone I look similar to and Yoruichi was it. I don't really care for the tights/orange jacket look so I decided that I want to cosplay as young Yoruichi from the Yoruichi/Soi Fong flashback.

What's the best pattern available for at least a semi-authentic hakama? I noticed a lot of hakama patterns mentioned in the forums, but I'd like a review of the pros/cons of a few. Any pictures of the 'final product' is awesome. If I can't seem to find one to my liking, then I'll probably just order one.

Her top in this picture resembles Soi Fong's. I love the way it looks but I don't know how to go about making it. Any suggestions here would be great!

I've been browsing a few wigs here and there and I can't really seem to find the "perfect" one. Either the cut isn't right or the color is way off... Anyone know a good place to look for wigs?

Also, I have a friend going with me as another character from Bleach and I was wanting to know if there were any good patterns for the male shinigami tops?

Thanks for the help!

as for the pros/cons i'd say go to the bleach thread
i didn't make mine so i'm sure you'd get more advice from the guys over there

the top would be mostly just a halter but thinner on the sides?

i think the scruffy would work really good for young yourichi but i haven't seen her in awhile so i'd have to have a reference picture,
next time please provide one!

the male and female shinigami tops are the same
just get a kimono pattern and V out the sleeves, but make sure to make a slit in the sides for the black one

I use a pattern from folkwear.com for the hakama. It's a great pattern because before I bought it, I had no clue about hakama, but now, I can turn out hakama in about a day. I got a few pictures in my galleries of me and others in the hakama.

As for the top, I made one for myself as Soi Fon. I just modified a halter top pattern to make the white one, then sorta free-handed the black one since it doesn't cover the back. It was an odd process but it worked out in the end.

Not the best reference shots, but here are a few of my Soi Fon as well as a few other friends in the hakama I made: http://www.cosplay.com/gallery/90502/

While I don't have any patterns, if you're having trouble finding ref. pics, I have a few for you. Since Flashback!Yoruichi and Soifon's are pretty similar, I uploaded a mix just so you could get a better idea on how they look from different angles.

You might also wanna try posting in the Bleach Cosplay Thread if you haven't already~
