Kk, I'll keep an eye out for those types of fabric.

btw, would this be a good fabric? It's 100% cotton and I really like the color.

Hmm, it's under 'quilting', but it looks like it might be kinda thin. I always hate buying fabric online because it's hard to tell what weight the fabric is.

This looks like it might be a bit heavier.

I agree about disliking buying fabric online. I like to feel and drape the fabric over my hands to see if it'll be suited for what I need it for, and it's impossible to do that with online shopping. I'd have to wait until I'm an expert fabric shopper before I have the confidence to buy any fabric online. :3

Well luckily the fabric is cheap enough that if it's to thin, I can make something else with it.

OK, here's my finish dress. I know it's not quite lolita, but could it be with the proper shirt and a petticoat? It's kind of a darkish lilac in color and I only added the bow to the back cause the pattern's waist was a couple of inches bigger than mine for ease. If it's not lolita enough, it's still a really cute sundress. What do you guys think?

I thiiiink it looks big enough to accommodate a petticoat, and the color is lovely, and the cut is really nice, it just needs more embellishment! Some lace or a ruffle around the bottom and a bow or two would really help.

I like the color! It's about the same as my lolita skirt's color I'm making from some of my left over purple fabric of mine, yeah, a petticoat could probably fit under it (it's kind of hard to tell to me really...)

But yeah, it does need some embellishment, this step is where you can get creative, but remember, keep in mind not to go overboard or it will start to become a bit distracting and dilute the overall quality especially when the lace and ribbon is cheap.

K, I'll look at other lolita dress with a similar pattern to this and see what I can do, keeping it like this for now. I did notice that with the dress pattern, I can do the corset look cause the panels are the perfect spacing apart. And the skirt is around 110 inches wide. I had alook at In The Starlight and thought the princess petticoat would fit best under it.

Thanks guys

Lucky me! I actually found an exact dress like mine, except it has a band at the bottom. It's this one. I might try and make something like that next time with a nice fabric like the one featured. I'm not sure if I like the top back bow though, personally. Would it be a good dress in most colors or only in more of the darker, gothic colors? Thanks

It's a simple design, so it should be fine with any style. I'm not a big fan of the bow on the back either, it looks a little random.

i think its a bit too short, and it will be especially so when you put a petticoat underneath. i would add a ruffle to the bottom.
