Near [Death Note] tips?

Has anyone here ever cosplayed as Near from Death Note? If so, would you mind giving me some pointers?

Just some things I think you might want to know...

I have shoulder length brown hair and dark brown eyes. I plan on buying a wig this week, and I hope it will arrive in time for Anime Expo. -_____-; I own a white button-up collored shirt, but it is kinda see-through. I also plan on binding my chest. (Lol, I have Cs.) I might even bring some toys! XD I think I can get the pants at Target or Kmart. >.>

Another thing, I know Near doesn't wear shoes, only white socks, but AX is a very crowded place, and I don't need my feet getting stomped on. > . < Should I wear slippers or sandles or something?

Thank you! Feel free to PM me anytime! :3

EDIT #1:

I just ordered my Near wig this morning! >///< From Cosworx~

Stye: Scruffy
Color: White

I also got a wig cap! :3 I bought the pants today at the mall, and I was lucky enough to find a pair made with a fabric JUST LIKE the fabric of my Near shirt! They match well!

So heres mah little checklist for my cosplay:

White shirt CHECK
White pants CHECK
White wig ORDERED, has not arrived. I will tell you guys when it does.
White socks CHECK
Toys (Robot toys, rubber duck, dice, etc.)
Bunny slippers (Yeah, lol. Near LOVES him sum bunnies~)

EDIT #2:

Another issue has come to my attention.

I don't want to shave/wax my eyebrows, NO WAY, but I have dark brown hair. It will stand out among all of Near's white crap. What shou;d I do? Would makeup do the trick? Or I can just pray that the bangs cover them. Ugh. -____-

I switched accounts. ;u; I use this one for the forums occasionally.
Sorry for any confusion!

if you want to be really accurate for pictures, just wear comfortable shoes that are easy to take off. like vans or something! my vans sometimes come off randomly...hahaha
What's this for? It's a wig.
What's it for? To disguise yourself from yourself.

Well, it sounds like you've got it mostly down. The nice thing about Near is that you don't have to worry about pressing the clothes. XD

If the shirt's kinda see-through, then get a white undershirt. As for the shoes, I'd suggest getting shoes that you can easily slip on and off. Especially for the convention, since you'll be running around a lot. For my own Near costume, I've got ones that look like plain tennis shoes with an open back. You could also probably even go with something cheaper than Target or Kmart for the pants, and find them at a thrift store.

And as for the toys, I'd suggest bringing a few and varying them up. He's always seen with a different toy, and I think it's fun to have a lot of props. XD
Costumes for '09

Naoto Shirogane (Persona 4)

Sure you think it's fun to have lots of props, TehUrka... I'm sure you'll be making me carry half of them. *heavily dramatic eye roll*

If you can stand it, I'd totally suggest getting blank eye contacts of some sort. If your eyes are dark, though, it's probably not really a problem... just an idea for an interesting effect.

Well, sounds like you have most of what you need! Near is a fairly simple and extreamly comfortable costume! I actually did walk around in just socks when I could get away with it. Most of the time I just wore white tennis shoes.

I went over my eyebrows with a white makeup crayon (the kind used for face painting). That way they at least matched the wig and weren't that noticeable.

I went all out with props for my outfit! I even sculpted the finger puppets and managed to find a blank puzzle.
2013 line up!

new cosplay:
